Vanderbilt, Carnegie Mellon, or Emory (Econ)

Hi

I have recently been accepted into these three schools, Vanderbilt, Carnegie Mellon, and Emory, planning to major in economics and math.

When disregarding other factors like environment and school spirit, I am wondering which of these schools have are better for these subjects, and would provide the best opportunity in terms of internships, or graduate school in the business and/or economics.

Thanks for any help!

They are all regional schools. Depends on where you want to work

I have heard that Emory has a fairly poor econ department as they rather focus on their business school, which happens to be well regarded. Therefore, I would not recommend econ if you were going there, but rather a major offered from Goizueta.

Vanderbilt has an awesome economics department and is steadily gaining more prestige out of the 3 … it might be a smarter choice to pick Vanderbilt.

If you’re planning to major in Econ/math at Emory, look somewhere else. But if you plan to do business at Goizueta, hesitate no more, Emory is the way to go
