I apologize. I’m a white jewish male from Nj for arts and sciences. I only meant that that’s my direct competition, I hold no actual ill will towards them. Just making a joke in these stressful times.

Lol it’s ok buddy. Im a white, jewish, male from NY for A&S so I know how you feel.

woo white jewish male from florida for A&S thats how we doo
5 more days?

Let’s go! I hope we all get in, all of my friends have heard back from their ed schools already. Hopefully we receive the letters by the 17th.

I know!!
My sister got hers yesterday, and now it’s even worse if I don’t get in. I have no idea why they don’t do it by email like every other top school. I’m strategizing how I’m going to open the letter. Should I wait till I get home, do it with my family, or just go for it solo. Plus Notre Dame will probably come the same day, so should I open that one first?
Urgh.

Haha I have a feeling I’m going to stare at mine for a really long time before I have the courage to open it

And it’s not even like we’ll be able to tell from the size of the envelope since regardless of the decision all letters come in standard size.

Apparently when you open the envelope, if you were accepted, theres an extra piece of paper in there for where you fill out the matriculation fee… so if it’s just slightly thicker then youre IN!! if it feels like only a single piece of paper, then ur not too lucky.

what do you guys think the acceptance rate is gonna be for ed1 this yr?

Ok that’s good to know. I’d say mid to high 20s considering that last years acceptance rate was 30%.

I am so nervous!! I wonder if they sent them out already…

They projected either sending them the evening of the 14th or the morning of the 15th. The Vandy Admissions Blog will update us when the letters are sent.

Thank you!!

I am also an ED 1 applicant for Vandy and I am so nervous!! I sent my application in so long ago it still hasn’t totally registered with me yet but it is sooooo soon!!!

on the most recent blog post, the writer stated that the school intends to send out decisions on the afternoon of the 14th!! D:

I saw that! One less day of waiting :)

so when do we think the letters will come to the northeast?

I applied ED1, what do you think my chances are?

My Stats:

SAT: 2020 (m710, r630, e680)
ACT: 29

Class Rank: 1/321
GPA: w-4.52, uw-4.0
APs: Calc BC: 5, Gov: 5, Biology: 5, Env. Science: 5, History: 4, English lang: 4

Ec’s: Beta President, Officer of 3 other clubs, Varsity Baseball, Quiz Bowl, Yearbook Staff, Lots of community service

Other info:
National Achievement Scholar, male African American, good rec letters

I would say letters should arrive in the northeast by the 17th or 18th

tbishop, your test scores are just a tad bit lower than they should be but everything else looks great. Being African American will probably help too because Vandy’s into diversity. I personally think you’d be accepted.

Thanks. I’ve never been a good standardized test taker. So i figured if something were to stop me, that would be it. I guess we will all find out in a few days! haha
