No need to accept your offer until your decision is 100%. Vanderbilt has already factored in a yield prediction of their own. However, removing your name from the waitlist is helpful to all once you are certain you are no longer interested in any possible future offer of admission.
Waitlisted - I think they knew my son will be going to MIT.
Waitlisted- got into plenty of better schools such as Rice and Northwestern
Accepted!
Waitlisted yikes

Rejected. Bye Bye Vanderbilt.
Lmao so many people got waitlisted holy crap… I would’ve rather gotten a no that’s an awful position to be in and a terrrible thing to ask you to do, especially those w financial hardships.
Waitlisted, 34C ACT, 780 US History, 750 Lit, 3.97 UW and 4.8 W GPA, tons of ECs w lots of leadership and volunteer work. I’d say good essays and excellent recs.
Kinda disappointed not gonna lie
@sps132 Just letting you know I just reported you for your language and your attitude. We are here to support each other and congratulate each other.
BTW . Waitlisted. Got into Georgetown and that was my choice over Vandy anyway. Of course, we all want to be accepted to every school we apply to.Lol! That just isn’t going to happen. My heart feels for those denied. Waitlisters you still have a chance and those accepted, my heartfelt congratulations.
So surreal. I was rejected from USC and Georgetown so expected nothing, but somehow got into Vanderbilt. Congrats to everyone!
Note to the Vandy Waitlisters:
Schools vary a lot in the techniques (ED, deferrals, waitlist, etc.) they use to control yield and enrollment. At some schools, the waitlist is short and few (sometimes no) kids get in off the waitlist.
Vandy is pretty open about the fact that they actively use their waitlist to fill seats. In the past, they’ve said they fill 8-10% of their freshman class via waitlist. So they take a good number of kids off the wait list; which means they also put a lot of kids onto the wait list.
@tbell13579 yep that’s the way it works. Especially if your qualified for all the top twenty schools. It comes down to little things they are looking for and it’s different at each school. And then you have individuas on an admissions committee looking at it with their individual ideas. Fun though and exciting. Got waitlisted, but I’m going to hang and share the joy of those who got accepted. Go commodores!
Can anyone guide me through the process of filing financial aid appeal at Vanderbilt?
