Vanderbilt Class of 2023 EDI Discussion Thread

Hey everyone! I haven’t been able to find a Vandy class of 2023 discussion so I figured I’d start one! Please let me know if a thread has already been made for EDI applicants or if you’re going to be applying to VU this year

Hi everyone! I am a current Vandy freshman (class of 2022) majoring in Secondary Ed and English. I completely sympathize with all of you as you begin your college application journey. Don’t hesitate to PM me if you have any questions and/or need advice on something! Also, if you plan on visiting campus in the next few months, I strongly encourage the Dore for a Day program. I’m one of the ambassadors on Tuesdays, so you should definitely stop by!

I am applying ED I!

Yay! Would you mind sharing Stats?

I’m applying EDI, pretty anxious even though it’s so far from now.

Good luck @jhomatas48 !

Thanks! @Sam-I-Am

A high school junior here. I just wanted to wish all of you good luck!

Have a good day!

Ahhh finally someone I can relate to! I’m so nervous I never thought I would want to get into a college this badly :((

Awesome letters of recommendation (2 teachers, counselor, and one from my boss from the camp I worked at)

Been in great contact with my admissions counselor I have a sister who is a sophomore at Vandy if that makes a difference. Showing my counselor a whole lot of interest and excitement about the prospects of attending Vandy.

Super excited and nervous to find out!!

Awesome! I have similar stats. What kinds of things have you been talking to your admissions counselor about, if you don’t mind me asking?

How’s everyone writing the Vandy supplement?

Guys I don’t have any SAT subject test scores and am pretty anxious now… I registered for Math2 in October but don’t think I am prepared. Should I take it in November? I’ll def get a better score but I don’t know if Vandy will accept it. It said “Oct 6th - preferred last day to take the SAT reasoning” and didn’t mention any sat2 tests. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I don’t think SAT subject tests are required.

Yeah but since I’m not submitting any AP scores, I feel like sat subject tests will better my chances.

@yjliu AP scores and subject tests are not required but idk if Vandy will accept your November subject scores. personally, I would take the October ones cause you never know and may do better than you think. if you do not so well in October, then take November too and hope for the best but try for October first

Thanks for the reply! I already changed it to November because my practice tests were pretty bad… and I don’t think I can do that much in the last week prior to the test date. I also have a decent ACT score w/ writing so now I’m trying to get my gpa as high as possible since I feel like it’s the more important than sat2s.

is anyone applying to scholarships? if yes, which ones?

Just submitted my application! Who else has applied?

@OliviaM2019 yay! Good luck! My application is ready. I just need to get the fee waiver, and I am all set to go.
