It gives me hope as well, and my brother really likes it at Vanderbilt.
First, good luck to all during this difficult and stressful time. I’m fortunate to have already been accepted to Vandy … although who knows what college life (and life in general) will look like this Fall. I’m still waiting to hear from Rice and Tufts, and while I’ve done tons of research, I’d appreciate any feedback to help me decide between these three schools.
@losername did you apply for financial aid for Vanderbilt? If so, did you receive an email from the US Department of Education concerning your FAFSA before your acceptance to Vanderbilt?
Hey guys when I checked Vanderbilts website a couple weeks ago it said regular decisions were going to be posted in the portal March 23 @ 5 PM Nashville time so 3 PM pacific time. But when I look again it’s not there anymore. Am I the only one that noticed that?
Was it a dream?
Apparently so. Hope it does come tomorrow.
I thought I read 3/25 somewhere. But that might just be based on last year. So, who knows what will happen this year. Tomorrow would be great.
I thought I read that it was coming out ivy day but idk at this point
What you read was most likely based on last year. Vandy has said squat regarding their release date.
I did not apply for financial aid.
Is it coming out tomorrow?
do they usually announce the release date beforehand or just send decisions out of the blue?
Did anyone get an email that they were a semi-finalist to the Curb Scholarship? Does this mean I’m admitted?
I know for ed they send an email about 24 hours before decisions come out
Since I am quarantined and got bored, I wanted to leave some notes for people who are nervosly waiting for the result.
I am class of 2022 in school of engineering majoring in computer science.
- I do not really think if interview really means something? I guess it can help you if u r not really qualified for vandy in terms of score(exam, gpa, etc) Because I did not even give an effort to contact interviewer (I did not do interview with Vandy) , and still got in.
- In my opinion Vanderbilt really values test scores and gpa, and it is a valid assumption because our former chancellor who just retired was eager to bring ranking up. He started to accept tons of Asian students with high exam score, and it really helped! (My specs are: ACT: 34; SAT2 800 on chem, physics, math2, chinese; AMC12 perfect score; USAMO 14/42, etc) I was high school Valedictorian
Well that sucks
- So far I think Vandy is fine but feel shxt because who likes their own school?
- Vandy has huge deflation so if u value ur gpa dont come
- It is really hard to get into first tier residential college so if u want to live in a good dorm room I would not consider Vandy as an option because u cant really live off campus (u have to apply and hard to get accepted). I am in the first tier residential college so I am happy.
- Btw I am an international student(Asian) studying STEM, so dont think that u cannot get in just because your specs are worse than mine.
- If u have any question ask me I will answer any questions. Btw I am working as an high school consultant
@harry133 Thanks for hanging out on the CC for us. I have a couple questions for you. You mentioned the first tier residential college. #1 - how are those chosen? #2 - how bad are the lower tier ones?
