Quite possibly, but you will never know for sure
It’s pretty funny that College Confidential is still listing Vanderbilt decisions as coming out today…
I also applied 2 days after the RD deadline and I got in, so I don’t think it made a difference tbh.
Major power move to apply late and get in. Props.

Any advise how to get of the waitlist? What are the things people do to help to get accepted ?
Does anyone know if Vanderbilt will be mailing out admission packets with hard copy acceptance letters? Son was admitted and it’s kind of exciting (though not essential) to receive the packet in the mail.
I believe they will. They did for ED2.
Hi everyone! For those of you admitted to Vandy, some of my tour guide friends made a virtual tour to give y’all a taste of what it’s like on campus if some of you haven’t been able to visit. Congratulations and hope to see you in the fall!
That’s a very well done vid!
My only comment is that unfortunately it doesn’t include any scenes of the new dorms being constructed on West End. Based on the VU webcam, they look spectacular…

they accepted 800 more people from RD this year than last year, RD acceptance rate rose from 6.3 to 9%. RIP my chances of getting off the waitlist :(. Well, unless they accepted less people from ED/EDII this year? Does anyone know?
Good luck to you! The data is a bit old but still helpful for wait-listed applicants: In 2014 Vanderbilt put 6,018 students on wait-list, 4,536 accepted a spot on the list and 210 were eventually admitted. The Washington Post’s Nick Anderson did some excellent reporting on this in April 2016 “Top Colleges put thousands of applicants in wait-list limbo, and some won’t admit any.” The article includes an interactive table with data for many schools. In a most unfortunate development, many schools removed their wait-list data from their Common Data Sets (CDS) as a result of this article. Vanderbilt, quoted extensively in the article even went as far as to strip the CDS data for all prior years…without noting on their CDS that they had erased data. Very unethical behavior on the part of Vanderbilt. Hope this helps families make informed college decisions!

How were you notified from the waitlist?
@HokieCrazy Vanderbilt sent me an email earlier today stating that “we are prepared to make you an offer of admission to the Class of 2024 if you are interested in receiving this offer, and if you plan to attend Vanderbilt next fall” and then I went to the portal, expressed my interest and immediately saw that I got in!
