Vanderbilt comparable with top schools?

<p>back to what the OP was asking... if by top schools you mean national universities, then i would say vanderbilt isn't at the same level as the ivies and other top schools. why? because vandy is much more regional and not very well known outside the south.... or not as desirable to non-southern students. </p>

<p>It depends Fiddlefrog, I agree that in uneducated circles, prestige and quality are not always the same. However, among educate people, they usually are.</p>

<p>I am not sure what you mean reidm. I have always maintained that to people in the know, academic excellence and prestige are directly related.</p>
