I hope your letter comes today dizzie! The waiting is very hard I know. Try to distract yourself any way you can. It will help pass the time. I've got my fingers crossed for you.

STILL NO LETTER! I called and they said if it didn't arrive by tomarrow they can tell me over the phone, but that means another 24 hours of waiting!

hey everyone!! i got my letter today...accepted to the CLASS OF 2010!!! Congratulations to all the other acceptees and best of luck to those who are still waiting to hear!!

shopgirl, i personally think it's ridiculous you were deferred!! your stats are amazing...hopefully you'll get the good news RD!

I'm in!!!

...I can't believe it!

Honestly serskipa, I don't know what else I can do. I have no idea where I'm going to college, because Vanderbilt was the only place I wanted to go. I got into UGA and Tulane, but I don't feel anything for them.

Shopgirl, your stats are good, and it's not a long shot for you....why don't you do the early decision II and write a really tenacious essay about your love of Vandy: these admissions people are humans and will see your passion as a plus for why you should be admitted. Good luck, we are pulling for you!

I am from Baltimore MD and was accepted into the engineering school ED. So excited to be a commodore!!

I'M IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well worth the wait!!!!!!!!

I cant believe it!!!!

shopgirl, being deferred isn't the kiss of death! i agree with goodwillhunting. you should write the admissions office a letter explaining why you are so passionate about vanderbilt and what you will bring to the school. i have a friend who was deferred from yale ED last year. he wrote the admissions office a letter explaining why yale was the school for him and was accepted RD. vanderbilt's the kind of school which will appreciate your persistence and enthusiasm. reiterate and expand upon some of the points that you talked about in your "why vanderbilt" essay. i think you still have an excellent chance!! Also, if you're considering applying to more schools...my second choice was Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. It's smaller than Vanderbilt and up north so i don't know if that's of interest to you...but it was a gorgeous school which seemed to exude some of the same personality as vanderbilt...they're on the common app...so perhaps something to consider..? best of luck with sorting it all out...

Congratulations dizzielizzie!

Two years ago it took almost a week for mail to get from Nashville to St. Louis.

You will love it. Enjoy Vandy!

Congrats to you DizzieLizzie! I know you must be very happy after the longer than usual wait for the letter. I think you will love Vanderbilt. Best of luck in your studies there.

I was accepted ED!! To all who were: congratulations and I can't wait to meet some of you next year!
Love from Texas ~

Btw...if anyone wants help with their application or editing of their essays, I'd be glad to help. Just shoot me an email.

hi would anyone like to read my essay? I'm filling in the application right now, and I'm not sure what Vanderbilt is looking for. I'd like to just recycle my essay for my other schools but don't know if it's a good fit.
