Vanderbilt ED1 Class of 2019 Discussion Thread

@Elizabeth1315 CDS only shows for Vanderbilt as a college–not each individual school. But I’m probably just overlooking it.

@CollegePanda96 It’s on there! It’s kind of hard to find though haha, but I have seen it before!

@Elizabeth1315 What letter + number is it?

Hey guys, I’m just entering the conversation now! I applied to Peabody as an HOD major. And for whoever (too lazy to scroll and see who it was haha) wanted to know the admissions rate per college, I’ve got a website for ya.

https://virg.vanderbilt.edu/virgweb/fb.aspx?show=2

According to this, for 2014 the overall admission rate was 13%; individual school stats were 12% for A&S, 15% for Engineering, 20% for Peabody and 35% for Blair.

Unfortunately, they don’t have separate statistics for ED, but since their overall ED acceptance rate was around 22% last year we can probably assume that our stats at getting into these schools are higher than what this website is listing.

@CollegePanda96 the link that @rockport721‌ just posted was the site I was thinking of!

@rockport721 Thanks!

Did you guys submit SAT Subject scores? My S submitted his Math II, but it is not showing up in the MyAppVu with his other scores.

I check MyAppVU like 7 times a day. I don’t know what I’m expecting, lol.

Subject tests don’t show in the portal

I got a confirmation email today. At least they for sure have my application haha.
Got into my safety as well, so at least I’m going to college somewhere (:

Yep. I got my confirmation email today as well.

The deadline for the CSS Profile is the 10th right? I sent mine in a week ago, but it still hasn’t showed up in MyAppVU. No idea why, but I don’t see how it could be my fault if I’ve already submitted it and they just don’t have it.

@nerdfighter23 I was also concerned about this earlier in the week, so I called the Financial Aid offices, and they told me that even though it wasn’t on MyAppVU, they did have it (he looked up my file). I think he said that it wouldn’t show it on there just yet, but he didn’t say why.

Well that’s good.
I keep meaning to talk to them about what exactly they do with outside scholarships but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. Don’t know if it’s even worth it for me to apply for them since I need so much FA. Should be a lovely conversation… note the sarcasm

Anyone know why my AP and SAT ii scores aren’t showing up in the portal?

I don’t think those show up for anybody since they aren’t required. At least that’s what I’ve heard. I didn’t send in any official AP score reports, but I think since so many people do well on the tests they don’t really consider them that much anyway. I put my scores on the common app figuring it wouldn’t hurt.

33 days!!

Gahhhhhh it’s so close but this is going to be the longest 33 days of my life

Crap. I just realized I forgot to put down my 2 mission trips over 2 summers with my youth group. That was like 100+ hours of community service!

@CollegePanda96 try to mention the trips in your interview.
