Vanderbilt ED1 Class of 2019 Discussion Thread

holy wow you guys wrote a lot in the three days i didn’t have access to my computer! I was on a peer mediation retreat for my school, which was absolutely amazing. I hope everyone’s been busy and keeping their mind off of friday! Theres a large chance I won’t be getting in, but i hope one of you guys will take my place and make the most of it.

Is anyone’s workload getting worse in the time coming up to december break??

YES i had about 4 papers due and a quotes test for my english class! Plus my final for my class at the university is coming up!

Mine’s actually lightening a bit I think! I’m sure that’ll change tomorrow but I feel like I’m actually on top of things for once!

I won’t have finals until mid-January so it’ll get rough after break. Maybe I’m just forgetting a bunch of things I need to do hahaha that’s very possible

I don’t have final exams until after Christmas break which for the record is the worst decision ever. We return after two weeks off from school and jump right into testing :(( but right now all my teachers are still trying to shove tests in at the last minute…so it’s not fun

@rebeccaAnn‌ Ya seriously! I’ve got at least two more tests in english, a calc test, and an AP chem test before break starts, and then who knows how much actual work over break

I don’t have English until second semester so I still have to read two full novels over Christmas break because I didn’t want to do it over the summer and have to wait six months until the class. It sucks.

I’ve got a literature class now, and we have yet to read a book where we actually like the characters. Either they’re all bad people and they die in the end, or they just die for now reason. Of Mice and Men was the best one, and still half the characters died. Classic literature disappoints me…

@cameron01 do you know if the person who posted that was in a certain time zone?

I am sooo nervous!!! I have been DYING to hear back from Vandy and these next couple of days seem like an eternity! My region’s rep from Vandy said we should hear back earlier than the 15th and said I should check on the 12th. Hopefully they will be up at 12:00 am on Friday!!!

I’m guessing they’ll be up mid - afternoon Eastern time on Friday. Stay busy… The week will go by faster!

Last year they released on a Saturday and posted something about it on Friday.

@nerdfighter23 classic literature is my favorite!

If the rumors are true, we’re looking at 4 more days.

I think I might start believing in superstition just for these 4 days…haha
I’ve been feeling good about it though lately. Plus it’s still showing up in random places so that has to be a good sign (:

@Elizabeth1315‌ I used to like it more! But I don’t know, I guess I just prefer fantasy stuff with all the epic battles and make-believe everything. And then there’s John Green…I’ve read all his books and I always end up questioning the worth of my existence after reading them haha

luckily i have a lot of things keeping me busy this week so i don’t have much time to worry!!

Same–but I’m still quite anxious now that it’s so near.

@riptides214‌ I couldn’t find what state the first person who posted was from but the second person to post was from New Jersey so EST

Actually the first person to post last year was from Chicago! Central time zone.

Either way, I’ll still be in school. Most likely lunch or third period. Ahh.
