Female/asian from GA
ACT:33 (34 composite, even though it does not matter)
UW GPA:3.89, our school does not do weighted…
I did not attend 8th grade due to family difficulties and basically went in without any 8th grade education (skipping entire algebra) so I made 2B’s from art and 2B’s first semester. But sophmore year I made All A’s in honors/ap classes, and junior year I took 5 AP and made all Super High A, and this year I am taking 5 ap’s SO 11 total.
Rank top 10% but if i take out my freshman year, top 3%

tri-langual (very fluent in Korean and spanish)

EC:
President of national math honor society (So many projects that I’ve initiated)
Founder of miliatry support club
Co vice president of beta
member of HOSA- medical program/serivce club
national honor society
national science honor society- won 2nd place in county
700+ service hours
sunday school teacher for 5 years now
refugee camp volunteer
started a mini charity buisness to help refugee kids to get education (in progress tho)
many leadership, 3 leadership position at school
other clubs… but not as important
Oldest out of 4, parent struggled finacnially so I took a big role in helping my parents out… thats why I do not have many summer activites nor internship.

Solid Essay and supplmentary essays (my ap lang and ap lit teacher told me that it was perfect)
LOR: all very strong
needs financial aid- NPC estimated that I only need to pay less than around $1000
Hooks: the adversity i’ve faced as an immigrant with low income, and the fact that I fell down but got back up by taking every opportunities… Also about my sunday school student telling me to pray for her to see her dad once more, who passed away from cancer, which made me want to study cancer even more.

I might not be the smartest… like my act is not that competitive nor my gpa but do you guys think I have some fair shot for ED1?

I come from the biggest high school in Georgia where almost none of our most competitive students applied to vadny

Eeek I finally got the courage to submit my app last night! Does anyone know how long it takes to get the email to set up the myAppVU account?

About a day!
@admd12000

I submitted mine two days ago! Now the waiting begins

Good luck to everyone on here! My app is in and I hopefully look forward to seeing you guys next summer.

My daughter submitted hers yesterday. Good luck to everyone! It’s going to be a long six weeks.

Just submitted! Does anybody know how much attention Vanderbilt gives to a resumé, if any?

Just got my app in! Got a long month and a half ahead of us.

@edc123 The resume is meant to supplement your common app activities list with any info that you couldn’t describe fully. I wouldn’t expect too much emphasis to be placed on it specifically. It will probably be regarded the same as your activities list.

Agreed…This will be a long six weeks!!!

Just submitted!!! Omg I’m nervous

Does anyone know the stats (estimate) for number of people applying ED 1 and number accepted?

They don’t separate out ED1 and ED2 but overall the acceptance rate has hovered around 23% between the two @“anotherbrickinthewall!”

5 1/2 more long weeks. Is anyone interviewing?

I’m trying to interview but none of the people I’ve requested have gotten back to me … hopefully soon :frowning:

My daughter is interviewing this weekend.

Same here @guevarajuice - we’re on request #3 and no one is accepting. Not a great system.
