Vanderbilt ED1 Class of 2022 Discussion Thread

@amominaz That is true.

I would love to hear back on Thursday. I wonder if the rumors are true.

yep its Thursday evening. my college counselor just confirmed with me too

I’m fully expecting a confirmation email today then, and the stress just doubled yikes

I still feel like it will be Friday because of the website, but I’m hoping you guys are right lol.

Take everything you hear on CC with a grain of salt. Just called the office of admissions. It’s Friday, not Thursday…

Hi there…I am a white male and applied to Vanderbilt Peabody early decision with HOD as major. I was wondering if anyone can give me insight into admissions into Peabody as a male/if anyone can chance me. here is my information:
1510 sat (770 math 740 reading/writing)
790 chemistry subject test, 750 math2 subject test
AP exams: 5 ab calculus, 5 language and composition, 4 comparative government, 4 chemistry
Senior courses: AP Physics 1, Honors Multivariable Calculus, AP Statistics, AP economics, AP English
GPA: 89.9 unweighted 94.4 weighted (unsure what this is on a 4.0 scale)
Some extracurricular include: church school assistant teacher, head of nominating committee for local community service group, youth group that goes on a ten day mission trip each year, adviser for middle school youth group, captain for varsity soccer team

Thank you

@wfarley135, I think you have a really great chance with those scores and APs. In the end, it may depend on your essays and recommendations. Applying ED1 should be a bump. Good luck to all applicants!

I would agree with @Sam-I-Am, at least I hope you have a good chance because we’re pretty similar lol

@wfarley135 i think you have a good shot. You have a good SAT score, but your GPA my be a bit low, but rigor can make up for that. just about everyone who applies has good stats, so I think a lot of decisions come down to ECs and LORs.

thanks for the feedback. Does anyone know if choosing HOD will make it harder to get in? .HOD is the most popular major so I’m not sure if that plays a roll.

Don’t forget that for the past several years, Vanderbilt Admissions has posted a blog that “ED acceptances will be out tomorrow”. We will see that first! https://admissions.vanderbilt.edu/vandybloggers/category/early-decision/

What time would email go out tonight if they’re releasing decisions tomorrow?

@slurpeee99 last year it was 5:30 ish

I was ED1 last year and I got the email at 4:48 cst so if y’all don’t hear anything around 5 tonight they’re definitely coming out on Friday

@kdswg5 central or eastern?

I’m just scrolling through here reminiscing about how stressed out I was last year waiting for decisions on the 2021 thread. Don’t let yourselves get too stressed about this bc you all are high achieving student and will get into great schools ( even if vandy isn’t one of them). Also, don’t forget about your current classes bc I had a final paper due the day decisions came out and ended up getting a 72 (whoops)

@slurpeee99 central

@kdswg5 Did you get accepted?

@VandyVisionary yes
