@kdswg5 That’s great, may I please ask if you find out as soon as you click on the link in the email or is there another step in between. Just very stressed and anxious…
@VandyVisionary I’m pretty sure that the link takes you directly there but I’m not 100%. But I do remember that if you are already logged into the portal when they’re released you have to log out then go back in for it to load, not just refresh the page, and even then it might take a few minutes to show up. So don’t be stressed if it’s 5:33 and it’s not showing up
Did anyone else NOT send their first marking period grades? I’m freaking out now because I didn’t know we could and I did really well so if anything it would have helped me. And would it be dumb to try to send them now? Good luck everybody!!!
@idkclassof22 Your counselor is in charge of sending that, not you. I didn’t send any of my grades. My counselor did.
@idkclassof22 I didn’t send mine I don’t think
@VandyVisionary Did you have to ask your counselor to send them? I had a looong talk with mine today saying that I had to “get proof” in order for them to send them, but then she told me to just send the pdf on my own…?
@idkclassof22 my school is the same way. At this point, I wouldn’t send to Vandy b/c we hear in like a day lol. They don’t require them anyway, and they are really just used as a supplement, so I wouldn’t worry about it at all.
My GC submitted them automatically – didn’t ask me at all and I had no idea it was considered optional (maybe it’s my school’s policy?). I did well Q1 but if I didn’t then I would’ve liked the option…
@idkclassof22 I didn’t ask her to send my Q1. I don’t even think she sent them if they are considered the “optional report” in the Common Application. Like @dsc2018 said, they are only an optional supplement, and they aren’t really considered that much. Q1 grades will not be the turning factor in whether or not you are accepted or declined. My Vanderbilt admissions counselor told me that they aren’t looking for reasons to deny you. They are instead looking for reasons to accept you. That is a bit comforting.
Agreed, and it says whether or not the Optional Report is submitted on the common app. 1st quarter of senior year can help/hurt you a little bit, but isn’t extremely telling (could be hard adjusting to new classes or your classes started off easy)
Vanderbilt called my guidance counselor early November and asked her a few questions about me. I don’t know what the questions were, but has this happened with anyone else? Is this good or bad?
I just got the email - decisions come out tomorrow!
So last year people got emails from Vandy about the decision coming out the following day around 4:30 CT… since it’s past that time, do we just assume that tomorrow isn’t the day??
@PaigeAndy No email so far, I live in Nashville.
Oh sorry @PaigeAndy I didn’t see your comment - not trying to confuse people. I haven’t got the email yet, but it should be coming!
@VandyVisionary If anyone contacted my counselor, I was not made aware of that. I would think that is good, especially if your counselor was able to give good answers.
I’m in Los Angeles here and no email.
Got it… tomorrow is the day!
I just got the email, too. I live in GA. My heart is pounding…
Should I be worried that there’s no email on my end yet?
