Vanderbilt ED1 Discussion Thread Class of 2021

Realistically what day do u guys think we will hear? Im praying for tomorrow but who knows at this point

Realistically probably the 15th, maybe the 14th, but I don’t think it’ll be this weekend

Just a mom of a senior at Vandy and I 've followed this thread every year since he was admitted ED1. My bet would be tonight after 6:00pm EST. Good luck to all of you! You’ll end up exactly where you’re supposed to be.

I think there is a good chance for tomorrow or maybe Sunday as some suggested… If not, though, I’m afraid it will be the 15th b/c in the past they release toward the end of the week, never the beginning. There’s still a decent chance for a release tonight, too…

I cant imagine them releasing them tonight without warning but what do i know? Im praying for tomorrow. Do any schools release on sundays?

I wonder if anyone got in via Questbridge yet. I think last year someone knew someone that got in that way before everyone who applied without Questbridge and it said “your portal will reflect your admission on 12/11”

@wildone17 QB decisions are out. They dropped on the 1st; I know someone who got into Vandy this year

I agree

really hoping for a surprise decision tonight

Did QB mention anything about when decisions come out?

That’s crazy that they already have their decisions.

@sumuzu I’m so jealous haha do you know if it said anything about the portal?

Now I feel like I should’ve applied via QB…

That’s crazy that ppl know already and therefore makes me more nervous knowing the class of 2021 is already filling up

What is quest bridge. Ive always been a little confused.

@sumuzu did your friend say when the portal will be upstated

@wildone17 no idea about the portal :frowning:

QB is for underrepresented/low income high achieving students. You have to be below a certain threshold to apply; then you find out if you’re a finalist. Once you are, you go on to do the matching process, which is like making a big dream list of 12 max (out of like 39 colleges including Columbia, Yale, Vandy, Dartmouth, Rice, etc) and you have a shot at getting “matched”, which is an acceptance and full four year ride. You have to attend wherever you get matched. Only 14% of people got matched this year. It’s like applying ED to multiple places at once legally and having a chance at free college

@fockey999 it’s for high achieving students that come from a low income background

Thank you thats what i always thought, just wasnt sure.

ugh im frantically checking this thread and washu’'s thread for release dates for me and my best friend im so nervous
