Hey everyone,
So Duke and UPenn are my number one and number two schools. I have an unlikely chance of getting into both of those schools ED (as does 99% of the world) and 0% chance of getting in regular decision. So I am going to apply to one of those ED, and not apply to the other one at all.

My third choice is Vanderbilt, and they have ED2 unlike the other schools, which is due on Jan. 3, 2012, a couple of weeks after I find out if I got into either UPenn or Duke. So I am planning on applying ED2 to Vandy if I don't get in ED1.

My question is does applying ED2 to vanderbilt carry the same benefits/increased chances as applying ED1. In ED2, you're application is measured with regular decision candidates too since they are due at the same time, as opposed to two month before in November, so IDK if it would really help that much. UPenn's acceptance rate ED was 29% as opposed to 14 % regular decision. Would ED2 to vanderbilt's acceptance rate be significantly higher than its 19% overall acceptance rate.

Also what is the point of ED2 if it is due at the same time as regular decison? Would it really help me that much more?
