Vanderbilt ED2 Class of 2020

@mat324 Actually, based on your history, if I counted right, this would be your 8th or 9th time. You need to relax. There’s nothing you can do to increase your odds at this point, and asking over and over again for the same answer isn’t going to help; just accept your profile is what it is, apply, and hope for the best. Good luck!

Would visiting Vandy improve my chances/ emailing my admissions rep? I’ve found that a lot of southern schools place a big emphasis on “demonstrated interest”

Applying ED shows enough interest, I think

Please tell me more detail about what the admissions person said about the differences between the chances of admission ED2 vs. Reg. We are trying to weigh out the pros and cons of waiting to learn about potential scholarships, vs.improving chances of getting into Vandy. Thank you for help in providing as much detail as you are able.

plsnu1234 posted to universitygirl 4 about ed2 v reg. (Sorry forgot to include this in my post above.

Is there a results thread for ED II results? I can’t seem to find it

Hey guys I’m going to be applying ED2 next week. Wanted to know if you guys think I have a shot with these basic stats.
ACT: 31
Superscore 32
Writing: 36
UW GPA: 4.0 (94%)
W GPA: 4.12
Good but not spectacular ECs
4 AP classes because we can’t take AP classes until junior year

Also I will be applying as a biological sciences major

Good essays and recs may get you to be accepted @sgallagher23

Its a reach but not out of reach. Good luck!

@XCjunior2016 thanks I appreciate it

For those of you who already applied, how long did it take for you to get an email regarding the MyAppVU account?

For the Vanderbilt supplement, are you guys using it as an opportunity to discuss “why Vanderbilt”?

@sgallagher23 I was admitted ED1 and I didn’t. I just wrote about the EC that is most important to me. As long as you show a passion I think you’ll be good, whether or not you mention Vanderbilt.

@collegebobollege did you write about a specific event or did you just discuss the extracurricular activity?

@sgallagher23 I begin the essay with an example but it was pretty vague and I spent most of the time talking about the organization as a whole and my role in it as well as why it is important to me

I talked about my job for the supplement

When did u guys get your portal login info? I applied 2 days ago and still havent gotten an email.

@mat324 I haven’t submitted yet but when I do I’ll let you know

Hi everyone! I still haven’t submitted by EDII application but I’m planning on doing so tomorrow. I’ve been hearing a lot of rumors that EDII’s chances aren’t any better than regular decision? Does anyone have any insight on this? I’m applying EDII (not EDI) because I want another solid semester on my transcript.

@vballaddison5581 I asked Vanderbilt admissions about the difference between ED 1 and ED 2 during their askVU session on Twitter. They said the only differences between ED 1 and ED 2 are the deadlines and the fact that you can send first semester grades as well as send test scores from December. The acceptance rate is substantially higher for EDII.

That’s a typo, right? The acceptance rate would be higher for ED1, I would think.
