Word of advice: Vanderbilt truly looks at you holistically. Don’t stress out on your academic stats (because I did.) And dont visit college confidential too often, you’ll feel discouraged if you have lower stats. I told everyone I was getting denied and prepared myself for denial - and by shock, I was accepted. If its meant to be it will be. Good luck!!!
Hi! Did you submit all your AP scores or only 5s and 4s? I’m conflicted about whether to report all official scores.
Hey guys, I applied ED to UChicago and got denied, so now I’m here.
Hi everyone! I just today decided to switch my application from regular decision to ED2 and I’m really excited!

Essays:
Common App Essay: Very Good IMO (My AP Lit Teacher, Counselor, Tutor, Mom, Dad, and friends have all said it is really good) It is about my near fatal diagnosis with type one diabetes where my blood sugar was in the 800s where a lot of people go into comas, and how at first it was tough for me and how i often doubted myself, but with the support of family and the inspiration of my dad’s immigration to cuba and the cuban values he taught me, i never gave up. I turned it into an asset, volunteering, running, and participating in a lot of events to help the type one diabetes community.
Vandy EC Essay: Talked about my internship with Hillary, what I learned from it. Emphasized how that despite the divided country we have today, I can still love and respect people with different views (Talked about my family members who voted for the other side), however I would still argue and stand up for my beliefs till I die.
Letters of Rec:
One from my Physics Honors Teacher: I picked her because she is insanely nice person, and i have a good relationship with her. Although it was not my strongest class due to the fact physics relies a lot on sensory issues, which do not get along with my dysgraphia, I still ended up with a B+ in the class.
One from My AP Gov Teacher: She is a very talkative person who knows my interest in politics and knows about my ECs in that area.
One from my counselor who i also have a good relationship with.
Good Luck Everybody!
Hi! Got deferred SCEA Harvard, and decided to ED2 Vanderbilt instead of taking any chances. Though Vandy is almost as good academically, and looks much more gorgeous and happy, so I’m hyped
Hi!! As a lot of people in this thread are likely to be, I was rejected from NU ED1.
I just applied today! I was wondering if any of you know how long it took to get the email for the portal. I want to get started on my scholarship essay soon.
@Knawledge4Cawllege I don’t know what the average amount of time is but I got mine the day after I applied
Sent my ACT in over a week ago and it still hasn’t been received by the admissions office. How long did it take for all of yours to arrive?
Hi guys, I just got accepted in Vanderbilt engineering ED 1 and wanted to share some stats about me to reassure anybody thinking they might not get in:

When will decisions probably be released this year? I know they released it on Feb. 12 last year and Jan. 30 the year before.
I think this year is February 15
How many acceptances does Vandy usually release under ED2? And how many people apply?
