Vanderbilt ED2 Discussion Thread Class of 2021

@vaibhavm99 I don’t know how much attention we should pay to that because at this point I don’t really think anyone knows when it’s going to come out admissions is usually very hush hush about it

Hey! I’ve been a lurker for some time now in this thread and thought of finally joining since decision dates are so close. I’m an international student from India interested in Computer Science. Really worried/excited/tensed for the results.

@frazzledsenior17 @vaibhavm99 just saw the link.
I think it’s most likely a trash post, however, most people on the Tufts thread expected results to come out today and also thought the 13th Feb date was completely incorrect. Turns out the result aren’t coming today. Maybe there’s some legitimacy behind it? :confused:

I hope it’s sooner; Can’t wait till the 15th of February.

I can’t function at all in school I can’t do this anymore ahhhh

Let’s hope we see an email today!!! Maybe Saturday is our day, you guys.

7.5 hours more to go for any possible email. Have an assignment to complete and I cannot concentrate if my life depended on it.

Does anyone know if they consider first semester grades for ED2?? My guidance counselors didnt send mine when i thought they were… Would it be worth it to force them to send it like today… I was realllly banking on them seeing my first semester grades because they are so good and thats when i took the majority of my AP classes

@maevechrist15 I’m in the same situation except mine were sent last week. I really wish they would look at them but I think it might be too late. However I was told that it’s not going to be counted against someone if you can’t get your grades in in time for ED 2

@maevechrist15 I don’t think they “require” first semester grades, but I’m pretty sure they’d have gone through them if you’d sent it.

That said, there’s almost no chance they’ll change your decision now or even add the mark sheet to your application. I emailed them on the 2nd of Feb to ask if they’ll accept my SAT scores and the Vandy counsellor told me there’s no point in sending them then.

Your best bet is to just wait for now. ATB!

@frazzledsenior17 and @maevechrist15
Just curious, how much did your weighted GPA rise with your senior grades added?
Also, was there a change in your UW GPA?

I also raised by W GPA (from 3.8 to 4) but wasn’t able to send my report on time. I asked my counsellor to email and ask if they would consider it and I think they were done making the decisions by then.

@vaibhavm99 my W GPA only went up .063 and my UW stayed the same because I had a 4.0 anyway

That totally did not give me an inferiority complex

@vaibhavm99 @frazzledsenior17 My weighted was a 4.51 (out of 4.9) at the end of jr year and my first semester this year brought it to around like a 4.61… They dont tell us our unweighted. And i dont really care about the numbers its just that i come from a very small school and was only offerred one AP class last year so i took a ton this year and got A’s in them and just really wanted them to see that i can handle APs

@maevechrist15 Your W GPA is absolutely amazing, and if you took all AP’s available till junior year, I’m sure they’ll understand. All the Best!

Thank you!! Its just hard to feel like a competitive applicant when they havent seen me succeed in multiple APs. Well, que sera sera :slight_smile:

@vaibhavm99 ^

@maevechrist15 I’m sure they will be understanding with your school situation

@vaibhavm99 don’t feel inferior! A 3.8 is nothing to scoff at plus you got it up to a 4.0 which is great

Even the mere fact that we are all considering Vandy means we’re bright students with equally bright futures in store. We will be just fine wherever we end up.

Any updates on when we’re going to get our decisions?
I swear I’ll lose it if today isn’t the day we get the email
