am I the only guy applying ed I? lolz.
i’ll post my stats, just because it seems to be the trendy thing to do:

essay was about a song (entitled “who knows who cares”—check it out) and how its taught me to mellow out and relax, letters of rec were bien (i sent a third in from my bball coach to my admissions lady), and visited campus. Sandy “disrupted” my interview, but whatevs.

actually, did anyone else apply engineering? i did a/s as my second choice, but engineering was my first. seems much rarer, if i say so myself. on a serious note, what should I expect around dec. 15? like what to look for, different kind of letter materials, etc. im an only child so this is all all too new for me. would appreciate a solid play by play from some members with experience. thanks to all.

i won’t lie, starting to stress just a tad, which NEVER happens to me. and when i say never, i mean i walked into every one of those AP tests without studying a second. here’s hoping for the best though. whats done is done.

@rantan32 nah, I’m a guy too (represent). Here is a link to last year’s early decision I thread. It should answer some of your questions about what to expect/some decisions that were made. Beginning on page 12, the class of 2016 EDI applicants begins finding out results. However, you may want to read a little beforehand to see questions/answers about the admissions process or what to expect in the mail. I know that for regular applicants, at least, they send admissions via priority mail, and rejections via regular mail. Anyways, here’s the link (I hope it helps). Don’t let it make any of you really nervous (many of them posted their acceptance/rejection stats, which are kinda scary in some cases). http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/vanderbilt-university/1245636-vandy-ed1ers-group-11.html

I don’t know if you all have seen this: [Census Day Brings More Data on the Phenomenal Class of 2016 | The Vandy Admissions Blog | Vanderbilt University](Census Day Brings More Data on the Phenomenal Class of 2016 | The Vandy Admissions Blog | Vanderbilt University) but all of your “low scores/gpa’s” seem to fit into this range pretty well (,which is obviously not a bad thing). I think everyone looks like a solid applicant, honestly…but who actually knows with the college process…it’s seems pretty random sometimes.

Nope, that made me sick to my stomach to read, @fivethousand! My daughter has almost exact stats as some who were admitted and NOT admitted! Crazy! UGH…

@rantan32 I’m a guy too lol and @FiveThousand thanks for the info

thanks brah. that was simultaneously helpful and depressing but mostly helpful. its times like these when i tell myself i should have just applied to penn state and been done with it. but whatevs. nice to see that other guys applied ed though. although, i wont lie, being the only guy on campus may have some perks. alas.

ahahahhahahahahah nice rantan

Haha sorry, guys. I couldn’t help but keep reading when I first found that thread. It has exciting and depressing info, especially as many of the people from last year seem very similar to the applicants from this year. We’ll hope for the best. Last year there was a 24% chance acceptance rate, which is much better than the 12% or 14% or whatever it was last year at regular decision.

@salvatoresuxx just trying to keep it casual you know? everybody gets all serious when it comes to college and college admittance. do i want to go to vandy? hellz yeah. but you gotta have fun with it you know? worrying and stressing and worrying some more isnt gonna help out. hopefully our future classmates agree, if youre catching what i’m throwing out. i mean ive already decided that if i get accepted, i probs wont go to school for the next week. i dont know about anyone else, but id say we’ve earned that right by now. agreed?

^this guy knows what’s up. I’m a guy too. You sound like the perfect Vandy student: smart yet knows how to live a little.

@rantan32 yeah I get you, we’ve done all we can do and all that’s left is to wait it out and see. 100% agreement if I get in, I’m taking some days off and enjoying it lol

@persiandad thats what i tried to stress in my essay. like yeah i get good grades, yeah i try (relatively) in school, but thats not what im all about. i’m not just a robot that wakes up thinking about school and goes to sleep every night worrying about the next day. i think if you can manage to get good grades without being a robot, there’s some serious value in that. and it seems as if the rest of you guys agree with me. personally, im not a MIT guy or harvard guy who wants to study all the time and practically commit suicide/homicide when i get a bad grade. i want a good education, of course, but i want to have fun with it. and thats why i think vandy’s awesome. and if your m/o is what i have dubbed an “MIT guy” then good for you. its just not my style, personally.

@salvatoresuxx and if i dont get in, i’ll probably take a couple of days off anyway ahahha. either way, theres a pre-Christmas vacation sabbatical in my future. lolz.

@rantan32 Lol I don’t blame you, that sounds pretty good regardless of the news. That’s a great approach too, best of luck! Hopefully we’ll be talking in the class of 2017 group :P
