She’s understandably unhappy that Vandy has rejected so many qualified students, but has moved on to focus on other pending apps, like so many others. Really proud of her resilience.

Hopefully the ED2 round will fare better, but her admit rep did tell her that ED2 has been lower % admit in the past.

It really is a gamble, and keeping a positive outlook really will help in the end. Best of luck to all of you & your students!

wow there have been lots of posts since i last checked! i was accepted ED1 to the college of arts and sciences, but sadly i will not be attending. my family just cannot afford it, and they didn’t offer us NEARLY enough in financial aid. good luck to everyone- it is honestly the most amazing feeling to be accepted.

to say i am heartbroken is an understatement… but i know there is a plan in store!

What do you guys think?

Warrior21, I’m impressed by your rank and your ECs. I would say that with these and the 32 you would get in. However, when one considers Vegasmom’s D’s rejection, it gives one pause about suggesting that anyone is a likely acceptance. We’re just going to have to get used to seeing Vandy as another ivy-crapshoot. You apply, you forget about it; when you hear, you say yay! or oh, well; in the meantime, you find a(nother) school you really love and want to attend.

@warrior21, I think your profile is really on par with their ED1 acceptances this year, but as jkeil911 says, who knows?

I asked my D about this, and she thinks that you should really consider UVA for their Kinesiology 5-yr program. We visited last year, when D was thinking of athletic training. It’s nationally ranked, lots of hands-on field training (VA Health system is huge), and Cleve/Mayo Clinic recruits their grads. Great campus, and your profile is a solid match, I think. Its a public Ivy, but really accessible. Check it out, and good luck!

Kalicheer, can I ask you if you completed the online financial calculator when you applied? Was it inaccurate?

Any accepted/denied sibling legacies ED1? Do you think the AC gives sibs a second look? My sister (2013) was a four year student athlete, SEC scholar athlete. I have a 3.6 uw and 32 ACT. Small rigorous private school in the south, upper 15% of my class (no rank), good EC’s, great recs, etc. This is my dream to attend Vandy. Applied ED2. A few people on CC have said, “slim chance”. Anyone with similar sib situation get in?

This post has got me scared to apply! I am a high school sophomore with the biggest dream to go to Vandy, but there’s no way I’m getting my hopes up Any advice besides getting test scores? (looks to be at least a 33 ACT and 2200 SAT)

Does anyone know if Vandy uses all four sections of the ACT to come up with a composite score or just Reading, English and Math? Also, are the stats of how many kids got accepted into which major online somewhere?
