The decisions are posted the the MyAppVU on December 15th. I’m not sure with the change in the ED1 deadline if they are planning to push that back or not.

Thank you! I wasn’t sure if they posted the decisions or mailed them. I wish it was sooner than December 15th! I’m not sure if my nerves can wait that long.

Just set up my interview ahhh!! How long do they last and what should I wear?

Don’t know how long interview lasts. I would suspect 30 minutes or less. I would dress “business casual” meaning no jeans but just neat and pulled together, nothing fancy or flashy (or expensive). Nothing that draws attention to what you are wearing.

Anyone get an EMAIL saying application is not complete. The college board site shows scores sent on October 24th both rush and regular. My daughter emailed the counselor for our area. College board says this happens regularly=meaning the emails sent from the colleges aren’t right. I doubt that only because Vandy seems so organized.

Mother of applicant!

^^
S had the same thing happen last year. College board sends batches every few days or even once a week. Depending on when you sent the request and when the college board sent the batch your daughter’s test score could be held up for awhile. Then it also depends on when the University did a review to send out emails.

I took it as an opportunity for S to connect with his admission counselor. He send an email and followed up with a phone call. Although I was happy when the email came back that everything was there.

We paid for rush scores on October 24th. It does seem very strange. Anyway-the college advisor’s assistant said she will call the admissions counselor. My daughter also sent an email.

@lalala777 I have had two college interviews. Both lasted almost an hour but I am real talkative. I am a guy so I wore a suit to both. One interview was at a college and others were there for interviews as well. Most of the guys wore suits; however, some wore khakis and button down shirts. I believe all of the girls were wearing dresses or mid length or long skirts. I thought everyone was very conservative. My guidance counselor said to wear my “Sunday best” clothes.

I had some other interviews for scholarships and other opportunities last spring. I noticed that the girls from my area that were dressed trendy during interviews were not selected since I did not see them at additional functions. Please note that I have not applied for any artistic colleges or artistic opportunities. It may be different for those.

My daughter wore jeans, boots, a nice sweater and scarf. They met at the Starbucks by campus. (We are somewhat local). I think it would have looked weird to come to Starbucks in a dress (or suit). They met for about 45 minutes, and they lady said at the end that she would be sending a letter to her admissions counselor saying she “couldn’t imagine a more perfect fit for her alma mater”. Her first contact never emailed back, so she asked for another one, and she was great.

Moonpie, that sounds like it went very well. What a nice comment as well. We heard back from the counselor re. the SATs and she said many students were in the same boat. She asked us to contact the College Board to get the “cycle number” of the SAT and then she could easily look it up. Sadly, when we called the college board, they said they do not have “cycle numbers.” I do think it is going to sort itself out, however! I am proud of my daughter that this whole situation has not rattled her. It helps that we have a nice college guidance office that is also making inquiries.

Hey , are there any ‘Internationals’ here who applied to Vandy ED ??

Hi! Question about interviews. I got an email last Monday about CoRPS and sent out an interview request immediately. By this Monday, he still hadn’t responded so I sent out a request to a second person. The deadline to request an interview is today and this girl hasn’t responded yet; I know she may not respond for a few more days, but I’m worried that she won’t ever respond. I really want to have an interview because my brother and I are pretty sure that helped him get into Vandy.
Even though they say you should wait a week, do you think it’d be okay for me to send out a third one? Or would it be rude if somehow both respond and I have to reject one of them?

Also, how long did it take you guys to get a response from your interviewer?

I would hold off on talking to another interviewer or emailing again. If this were not optional, I would so go ahead but I don’t think you should stress over it since it is not required.

@oldkingc So I shouldn’t even though this is the last day we have to request one? It’s just that my SAT scores are on the low range and was hoping an interview would help with the holistic thing because (I’m not full of myself) I do really well with interviews.
I want to send out another request to someone who actually responded to my friend’s request unless the whole “wait a week thing” should really be followed and if it would be rude to reject one interviewer if both were to reply.

It’s definitely up to you but since they were clear on the instructions, I feel like it would reflect poorly if two people responded to your request and then had to turn one down. Just my two cents. Do what feels right.

@oldkingc As much as I want to request a third person, you’re probably right. To be honest, my chance of getting in is already really low, so the interview probably won’t help much anyway (WOW I’m being so pessimistic). But really, thanks!

Trust me, I’m right there with you. You still might here back, but I think having a mix up might hurt instead of help. Best of luck.

@oldkingc We have such little faith in ourselves! I totally agree though. it’ll be great if the person responds, but I’ll just have to deal with it if she doesn’t. Good luck to you too! Hope we’ll both be at Vandy this time next year :)

Me too. And just the sound of that is so exciting. 32 days till we find out!

I just had my interview two days ago. It just depends on the interviewers schedule.
