I am adding this here from the other thread here - http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/vanderbilt-university/1011219-transfer-fall-11-a.html

I am contemplating if I should retake the ACT or SAT since the deadline is coming up.

Here are my stats:
HS:
Graduated 41 out of 255 with an unweighted GPA of 3.55.
Highest ACT score was a 24 with a 7 on writing my senior year.
I did take the SAT, but I like to think that I never took it.
I ran Track all four years and Cross Country my 10, 11, and 12 year. Varsity every year.
I was inducted in BETA my sophomore year.
I was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society my senior year.
I was part of HOSA, FBLA, and DECA clubs.
In my junior year I was accepted into a clinical internship class that I participated in my last semester of my senior year. I worked at a local hospital four days a week for ~4 months.
The last semester of my senior year I was recognized as a Tennessee Scholar and was awarded with the Educate & Grow Sumner County Scholarship that paid full tuition to Volunteer State Community College for two years.
I took three dual enrollment classes through VSSC my senior year; Pre-Calculus I and English 1010 and 1020. I received a ‘B’ in those courses, unfortunately.
I did various volunteer jobs including working at the elementary school, fundraisers for track and cross country, christmas fundraiser for DECA, etc.

CC:
I have been a student at Volunteer State Community College since fall of 2009.
My current GPA is 3.3 and after this semester should be around 3.4.
I have a completed a rigor of courses including Calculus, General Chemistry I, General Chemistry II, Biology, along with prerequisites.
I will be graduating with an Associates in Math and Science degree next semester.
I was accepted into the National Society of Leadership and Success last year and was awarded the National Excellence in Leadership award.
I tutor English and Algebra at the moment.
The negatives about my college transcript: I received a ‘D’ in Gen Chem I my first semester, took it the next semester again and received a ‘B’. I took Organic Chemistry I a few weeks of this semester but dropped it so I could focus my time on General Biology I.

I would love some great advice on making my application stronger.
One thing I plan on doing is volunteering at the same hospital I worked at my senior year of high school over winter break.
I really would like some feedback on if I should retake the ACT or SAT.
I have an identical twin brother with similar statistics who should be posting soon.

Thanks!
