Vanderbilt Fall '11 Transfer

<p>I am going to be a sophomore next year and I want to transfer to another school with a higher academic caliber than the one I am currently attending- I chose the wrong schools when going through the original application process. </p>

<p>I heard that it is somewhat easier to get into Vanderbilt as a transfer? Is this true? Maybe you guys could tell me what you think on my chances of getting in. Here are my stats:</p>

<p>High School:
SAT: 2100/2400
Top 10% of graduating class- Top 5% of graduating class
GPA (weighted): 4.65
GPA (unweighted): about 3.8
AP Classes: English Language, European History, English Literature, United States History (I), United States History (II), French, Environmental Science</p>

<p>Honors Classes (High honors taken where no AP classes where available- I could only take AP classes as a Junior or Senior): Marine Biology, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English (2 courses), World History</p>

<p>Clubs and Activities: Math Team, Environmental Club (Senior Leader), National Honors Society, Key Club, French Cinema Club (President), Humanitarian Club, Friends for Rachel, Food Drive For Soldiers, Chernobyl Boat Cruise Fundraiser, Sea Turtle Rescue Program, Walk for Wildlife, Project Reach, Animal Shelter Volunteer, Heart Walk, etc.</p>

<p>Sports: Varsity HS Soccer all four years (GK and Forward):: Atlantic Coast All Star, Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic Player, Atlantic Coast League #1 GK</p>

<p>Scorpions Soccer Club (7 years):: #1 club team in the nation, won over 20 tournaments, 4 State Championship wins, 3 Regional Championship wins, 1 trip to Nationals</p>

<p>Olympic Development Program (MA): Traveled to Spain with this program and trained with the highest level of athletes and coaches for 5 years</p>

<p>Freshman Year College:
GPA: about 3.7 or 3.8
Private college</p>

<p>Clubs and activities: President of POW: Protect Our Wildlife - my own club, also a member of Environmental Club, and Toastmasters, a public speaking club</p>

<p>Soccer: Starting Varsity player, new school record for # of shutouts in a season</p>

<p>Research Experience: Genetic Research on the viability of the white bengal tiger, Green Harbor water quality analysis/ research, AP Environmental Science research project on local water quality, Woods Hole Marine Science Research Internship (pending), South Africa Great White Shark research internship (pending)</p>
