Vanderbilt Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

Accepted to UVA. Waiting on Vandy

Does anyone know when the financial aid details will come out for admitted students??

I received my transfer credit evaluation and wow not a lot of stuff transferred apparently very no bueno

did you get to see which classes didnt transfer?

@SophTransfer2019
I’m also a sophomore transfer from TCU in Political Science, so crazy!

Accepted:
College: TCU
Major: applied to be a public policy major from polysci
College GPA: 4.0
HS GPA: weighted 5.473/5
ACT: 33
White Texas female

Accepted: Vandy, UNC Chapel Hill
Waitlisted: UVA
Waiting on Northwestern, UT

Hooks: I was waitlisted and eventually rejected at Vandy and Northwestern in the freshman admissions process.

An aid package came with my decision, they took all of my transfer credits (even online community college from HS) and I was told that transfers are put into all available upperclassmen housing (so dorm style, suite style, and apartment style)

@readytotransfer0 No way!!! They took all my credits too! Hope to see you there!

Anyone know anything about second waves?!?!

I am wondering that too. Since I have not heard back yet, I wanna know when to expect my rejection.

@anatomygeek34 Not yet. I just saw how many are expected to transfer. I took a lot of school/program specific classes so it makes sense that they won’t transfer but actually seeing it surprised me, lol. I’m gonna contact them once finals are done to go over it all

Is there a facebook group for those who have been accepted or a groupme chat going on??

Rejected CAS,

@wkdalswjd theres a link to the facebook group on the “decision” tab with your acceptance

So I was waitlisted, and contacted admissions about notifications. evidently, they may start going to the waitlist in 2 weeks, which makes sense bc that’s around when the deadline is for admitted students. i imagine they’d go to the second wave around then too, but i’m no expert

anyone have the courage to call up admissions and ask what they’re doing WL’ing AND 2nd waves for? like what is the point of doing both?

@Faexpopuli apply again next year. Freshmen are often rejected because they do not have much to show for their college work. As a transfer, HS stats do not matter because you are in college now. They want to know you can compete at a college level. Hence, why freshmen struggle getting accepted.

@thestandard The 2nd wave is generally for applications that have not been evaluated or are only partially evaluated by April 25th.

Waitlists from the 1st wave have obviously been fully evaluated. Admissions liked these waitlisted applicants, but want to see how many from the 2nd wave will be accepted applicants and what the enrollment yield is from the first wave of accepted applicants.

So does that mean the the second wave would be out before the reply deadline of the first wave?

does anyone know who we should send the waitlist LOCI to? There’s is only a message tab on the website and no email addresses

@sssss123123 your admissions officer

Does Vandy mail out physical packets to accepted transfer students?
