They usually lie about when the decisions get released, so I wouldn’t believe that as much. I would day next week is a better bet
Congrats to all accepted and good luck to those waiting! My daughter was accepted but is nervous about transferring. What have you all heard about being a transfer student at Vandy? Specifically social life and sorority and housing if anyone can help - thanks!
@michgirl22 Go back to page 45 of this thread and you’ll find a mom wrote in about what a great transfer experience her daughter had at Vandy. Very encouraging!
Do you guys think it would be acceptable/recommended to send in my final transcript? I’ve just gotten my official grades back and was able to maintain my 4.0, so I’d like to add it to my application.
@aqargo I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt you, so you might as well.
@aqargo I definitely believe it would help. Potential problem is the time. I don’t know how long it takes for official transcript send from your current college registrar. If you e-mail the transcript yourself it will be disregarded as Vanderbilt does not take in to account self reported grades in admission decision. Possible third option is to see if your advisor in your school would e-mail it to your regional counselor on your behalf.
Are we gonna get a wave this week?
I hope so!!! we should get one
Anyone know if or when they will be going to the waitlist?
As a heads up for those waiting for the second wave, when I emailed to get an enrollment deadline extension they said they couldn’t extend it as they know how many to accept in the second wave. The enrollment deadline is this Thursday, so I think there’s a very strong chance the next wave is next week.
my admissions counselor has not responded to any of my emails and I am concerned if I can send in a LOCI as well as updated grades, letter of rec? How would I go about doing this?
Just send it into your admissions counselor. It took me a while to get a response. They’re very busy so just get it in as soon as possible and they’ll probably send you a response later.
I sent my updated grades/mid-term report and got an automated email that my admissions counselor is out of town until May 20th
I have a quick question that is not limited just to Vanderbilt - is a 3.73 gpa with 23 honors units and 67 units (up to spring semester as a freshman) a jump from a 3.41 gpa uw and 1300 sat in high school? (long story if you want to ask why I have so many units already)
thank you
@heyigotnoclue do not worry about HS too much if you are doing well in college. As a freshman, you HS stats will matter more when transferring. However, at the end of day, you are in college now and they need to know you can do well in college. HS is just completely different.
i had a low gpa in high school because of serious health issue; i’m doing well and have a 4.0 gpa at local cc in california; i forgot to mention it on the common app, do u think i should email my admissions counselor? or is it too late
Are we gonna get a wave this week?
@ys1017 Similar situation. I ended up not writing anything about it. I’ve taken a lot of cc units and have done well in those classes, which I’m sure they’ll care more about than how I did in hs (but who knows).
@cloud7 i’m a sophomore transfer, so i only have 31 units so far… should i send an email?
Do you think the second wave will be tomorrow or do you think we’ll have to wait a bit after the deadline for accepted students is due?
