“Since we are a residential campus community, our admission process gives preference to students who have been able to show full-time engagement and full-time enrollment in a similar campus community at their current institution” emailing my advisor she said that this is because community college students are still required to live on campus and to take regular traditional classes. Many people in CC take online and weekend classes, they have to be part-time, and work at the same time. @Ashtash arent you a current student at Vandy?
@texmexhomeboy1999 Nope. Hopefully I will be this time next year though! I’m a current transfer applicant from a 4 year uni
when do decisions come out? end of april?
Yo, sorry I’m late.
I’m from Barnard College/Columbia University.
I think the first wave of decisions comes out mid/late April.
@Gtownboogie Hey! I’m at Barnard if you have any questions!
Hi All!
I made a post on here quite a while back with my stats and all. I was just putting a feeler out there for how many people here applied for transfer to any other colleges/universities besides Vanderbilt. My application was specific to Vanderbilt, and I would be interested in seeing admit rates with respect to the specificity of one’s application once decisions come out.
If you did apply to only Vanderbilt, how did you make it shine through in your app/personal statement?
Thanks
@olliebird Common App no longer has a personal statement for transfers, so everyone’s app to Vandy should be specific to Vandy.
Did you apply through Coalition?
@olliebird i applied to three others.
it’s crazy to think that some of us will probably have our decision in less than a month!
@Ashtash that’s kind of scary to think about ?
Over the past few years, the transfer admission decisions have been coming later and later. However, I just checked out the 2016 transfer thread, and some applicants got their decision as early as 4/11. No one knows when they’ll come out, but it’s super exciting that there’s a possibility that they could come out next week!
Wow, I didn’t realize that it could be so soon ?
Also, my College Report still shows it hasn’t arrived despite me sending it about 2 and a half weeks ago, should I be concerned?
@AQArgo i don’t think you should be concerned in that they don’t receive it at all, but they will not consider you until all your application materials are in, so you have yet to be considered then
@AQArgo This is my first time commenting in this thread, but I wanted to say that I mailed my college report to Vandy 3 days ago (from Atlanta, GA) and it was reported as received this afternoon. 2 weeks is a long time, so I would follow up with your admissions counselor just to double check that it wasn’t lost in transit or something.
^^ bay areaaa
@AQArgo Have you checked with your school to make sure they’ve sent it? I would do that, and I would also recommend contacting your Vanderbilt advisor to make sure that it was complete and correct if it has arrived.
I think it just takes them a while to process certain materials. I had my college report sent out in late January, but it wasn’t marked complete until late march.
How long do you guys think we’ll have to give them an answer? I kinda hope I’m not in the first wave cuz I’m waiting on two others that come out later.
I believe you have in the neighborhood of 2 weeks to respond. I believe that students who will not hear yet regarding their top choice by that time, pay the deposit (I think 400 or 500 dollars) and then forfeit the deposit if they end up being accepted to their top choice later (and they can afford that loss).
