Vanderbilt Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@oceansquare that is so unfortunate. Especially since (at least from my experience) that form is sort of a pain to get filled out.

But on the upside, it’s a good sign that they are doing this! It must mean something good.

@IndirectProofs It sounds good?? How so?

Like they might be interested in accepting you if they are concerned about the form! It’s just an observation.

Ok so the registrar said they consider online courses on an individual basis

@oceansquare I think you can scan a new one and send it to your counselor

I don’t have a high school transcript and I’ve tried to get advice from my counselor and after 3 emails, no response. I’m so discouraged. I think I’m just going to have to assume that Vanderbilt isn’t going to happen.

Really? @IndirectProofs My counselor e-mailed me every time within a span of like 5 minutes. That’s odd that yours didn’t respond so quickly, but they all are busy people. Don’t be discouraged!

Yeah, I emailed her 3 times over a span of 4 days. I just now emailed admissions instead so hopefully I will get a response. Thank for the encouragement @oceansquare.

@IndirectProofs You can also call them! I agree with @oceansquare that they’re really busy now so it’s probably why they’re taking longer to reply to emails.

I’m probably reading into this, but my counselor is extremely and oddly nice in my e-mails. She was like “Thank you for your diligence in looking into this!” I didn’t even really do anything lol

Still haven’t gotten a response! :frowning:

I would say Vanderbilt counselor was the kindest counselor I have interacted in my applications.

Is it possible for them to release the first wave this afternoon?

I think they are usually really nice tho especially w the size of vandy. I even got a email talking specifically about my essay when I was applying to my current school.

All these admissions officers from the elite schools are extremely courteous- but don’t be fooled -they will reject you as readily as admit you.

First time commenter here. I’ve been considering applying as a transfer at vandy for a while, but I haven’t actually done it yet. I emailed my admissions counselor a week ago with no response. Looking for input!

Should I scramble to complete the app now and hope to gain one of the limited spots in the second wave or should i wait until the next cycle and try to gain one of the limited spots for rising junior transfers? thanks!

question: for transfer students…normally we apply for the junior class or we have to redo freshmen again?

@doingitforme Do you mean you haven’t submitted your application?

@oceansquare yes, i havent

@doingitforme I think the reason there are so few junior transfers is because there might be more required courses to graduate than students expect (so they come in as sophomore transfers because it will take them an extra year).
