Vanderbilt Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

rejected

@hello0192837 In previous years, a waitlist from Vandy was essentially a rejection. This year is really unpredictable. From this forum, it looks like they offered more people admission than normal (just me speculating). I think they did that to combat the yield uncertainty from the virus and the transfer housing situation. Itā€™s hard to say if the chances of getting off the waitlist are higher. Iā€™d say yes, but I wouldnā€™t get my hopes.

Waitlisted. Couldnā€™t care less since I got into William and Mary

I got waitlisted tooā€¦I guess its more waiting for now everyoneā€¦any speculations on when weā€™d get answers lol

waitlisted. hopefully we can get off the waitlist. would love to attend vanderbilt.

Ah damn so chances are low if weā€™re WL :frowning:

Admitted Juniors!!! How are you guys figuring out how many credits you will have before putting down a deposit??? Itā€™s crazy to think we are accepting when we do not know if we have another 3 or 4 years at Vandyā€¦

Still waiting!! Not sure what this even means

Waitlisted CoE.

I didnā€™t figure I would be accepted after not hearing back for so long, thatā€™s been bad luck for me every time it has happened. I got accepted into Rice and was going to weigh my options if accepted to Vandy, but this makes my decision for me.

When this happens I cannot help but feel my app just got skimmed at the last minute to meet a deadline. Oh well. Congrats to everyone that got in.

Still waiting, Iā€™m assuming thatā€™s not good news

Jr. got in this yr. Got WL last yr applying from a CC after freshman yr.
xferred to a 4 yr for his soph yr, got the grades, was admitted for the fall as a jr.
Iā€™m really posting this for everyone who didnt get in. Donā€™t give up hope. Keep plugging away, and remember hard work can be its own reward.Even if you dont end up at Vandy, the paths you open up for yourself by striving to get there can be just as rewarding.

has anyone not heard back yet

I havenā€™t

Has this happened in previous years?

Will the off-campus housing continue for the Transfers through the following year? The bummer is that a 1-year lease is most probable, which means that internships for next summer will probably have to be in Nashville.

Please update us if you get off the waitlist. Thanks!

Current admitted students, have you accepted your offers? Or has the housing situation/offers from other schools made you decide to decline?

Iā€™ve already accepted my offer on the waiting list. Do yā€™all think that Vanderbilt will be more likely to turn to the waitlist this year than previous years due to the sudden outbreak of COVID-19? Also what does a rolling waitlist mean?

@BeamerCrew did you apply to coe?

@BeamerCrew a rolling waitlist means that they will take people off of the waitlist as spots become available rather than just one wave of all acceptances and rejections.

As far as whether or not they will be more likely to take people off of the waitlist this year, my intuition tells me yes, but no one actually knows. The only people capable of answering that would be admissions officers, but to be honest Iā€™m not sure if any of them could give an accurate answer- at least at this point in time.
