Vanderbilt hotels

We are heading to Nashville to do a campus tour. Anyone stay at a close hotel which they would highly recommend? Thank you.

I stayed at an airbnb. I thought the hotels were pretty expensive in Nashville.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn on Elliston Place, which was clean and decent. It’s best feature was it’s proximity to Vandy admission office - we left the car at the hotel and walked to admissions. We didn’t stay there, but the Homewood Suites on West End Avenue looked nice from the outside and was also walking distance to admissions. And Marriotts are usually pretty reliable, and there is one on campus by the football stadium. Enjoy your visit!

If you use the links from this page, you should get a Vandy rate.

Nashville hotels seem to be a bit pricey. Residence Inn West End is new and usually has good deals. Short Uber ride from admissions. Or you can park for free in the lot over by the bookstore.

I have stayed at the Embassy Suites on the above list several times. It would be a great choice if you want to be close to Vandy.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn adjacent to campus. Easy to walk places, including the nice park across the street. It was a pretty standard hotel - really we were there for the location. Ask for a view of the stadium!

My favorite near campus hotel is the Marriott by the football stadium, but it can often be too pricey for my pockets. However, last summer I got 3 nights for just over $500 using AAA rate during D’s wedding weekend, so it’s worth checking.

Thank you!!

Was it nice?

Agree with Homewood Suites or Marriott. If you are on a tight budget and don’t mind reliving your college dorm days check out Scarritt-Bennett. Can’t beat the price, walk to VU and free parking.

We stayed at Hampton Inns - both Elliston Place & West End; we liked both. We also liked the Holiday Inn Select, which had great local music on the weekend. My in laws stayed at the Hampton Inn Green Hills, and they really liked both the hotel and the location (it’s not far from campus).

We stayed at the Homewood Suites across from the university. Stayed in a large suite which was very spacious!

it is very hard to get a competitive rate in Nashville. We stayed at Elliston Place Hampton–very standard but great location to walk to main campus and friendly without parking fee! My preference would be Hilton Garden Inn because they have two queen beds in double rooms…but a parking fee and no free breakfast. Embassy Suites is near HGI and provides that second room and full breakfast…parking fee also. When hotel rates were inflated, which does happen, we stayed in Brentwood for more regular fees, preferring that drive to the drive to the hotels around Opryland or the airport.

we stayed in Residence Inn in Brentwood since hotels close to Vandy are expensive and since we rented a car didn’t mind driving.
