I lived in Germany for 5 years so I am pretty much fluent and I really like U of M because of its strong German department.

My GPA is a bit low, but do my test scores make up for it?

bump…

100 views and no replies?? come on now…

Honors Calculus??? Is that less than AB, or greater than BC, or what?

Provided you apply early, you’re very likely to get into Michigan.

its the highest math class available at my school (northville high school, in michigan)

I think you have a really good chance at Vanderbilt. Your scores are amazing and your GPA is still pretty high. You have a lot of involvement as well. Are you planning to continue soccer in college?

Thanks! I do want to play soccer, but Vandy only has club. Michigan has a varsity team, but I like vanderbilt much more.

I don’t know about Vanderbilt, but you’re highly, highly likely to get into U of M. I did, if that helps you any.

you have a great shot at both. the only thing is that you ECs are mostly soccer or german related, so you may want to expand your interests… but other than that you are in good shape

I got into UMich with a lower GPA than yours and comparable SAT, so hopefully you will get in there as well.

I’m also a Vandy applicant, so good luck!

thanks, ill try to expand my horizons lobster :). If i could, id like to play college soccer at u of m. bloomfield is mrl, one step below academy so i think it could happen but idk…

You should definitely get into Michigan. Vanderbilt …PROBABLY. I agree with the EC comments, though. You def. have a good shot. :)

i dont find any reason U o M rej u, and for vandy, u also have a big chance

i applied to both of those schools. i’d say you have an excellent choice of getting into Michigan, practically guaranteed. As for Vandy, thats a tough one. I’m gonna be honest here and say that your grades are really hurting you for Vandy. I’ve been in contact with the admissions officer for a long time and she can’t stress enough that grades are what will make you or break you. They’d rather see high grades and lower scores because it shows you are willing to work hard. Also when I visited, they said “test scores matter more than you want them to, but not as much as you think they do,” so all in all, I’d say you have a good shot, but you shouldn’t put all your eggs into the Commodore’s basket

I used to live in Northville, did you go to Hillside?

I did actually!!

That’s pretty cool, I did too but I moved away after 7th grade.

no way thats crazy
