Vanderbilt or UT BHP?

Hi,
I posted this on the UT page as well but here it goes:

May 1 is rolling around and I am having trouble deciding between going to UT BHP and Vanderbilt university. I am really basing my school decision based on academics, since I got some financial aid from both schools and would essentially be paying the same amount at either school.

So, I am undecided whether to enter business or pre-med, so I plan to do both at either university. If I plan to go to UT, I would major in BHP and take the pre-med track. If I go to Vanderbilt, I would major in economics and take the pre-med track as well. Where would be the better place to go in terms of internships, research opportunities and job placement afterwards? Which school would give better specialized attention and better teacher recommendations? Which school would have better connections?

Thanks!

Since the word “business” is pretty vacuous, I’ll specifically address post-graduation for people doing majors in that field. The placement is quite good. Internships at top-tiered firms are definitely possible with a good GPA and interview skills. We are probably mid-tier with investment banks and have good connections in NY. There’s also a huge consulting base here with MBB recruiting.

For pre-med, the classes here are pretty difficult, so I hear from a bunch of my med-school accepted friends, so it helps prepare you for the MCAT. In addition, a lot of profs try to orient classes around that, since they know that’s the ultimate goal. Vanderbilt undergrads also have a better chance of getting into Vandy med, which is a pretty good med school, so it works out either way.
