Vanderbilt Recommendation question!

Admissions: Vanderbilt University

Vandy's site says, "The Vanderbilt Office of Undergraduate Admissions requests letters of recommendation from school counselors and two academic teachers..."

I'll get the rec's from my counselor, of course, but I'm also getting a rec from an academic teacher from India (she has a phD and everything) that I met this past year when she visited our school to see how "America does things". She had an idea for this debate, so I went all out with it, and I taped it for her and sent the DVD back to India for her as a gift for her and her students to watch. We keep contact through email, fyi. I've also talked to a couple of her students via email.

I'm wondering if that would count as one of the "two academic teachers" considering I wasn't one of her students and the fact that she's not American (idk if it makes a difference). I think it'll be a great/unique rec, and I'm hoping that it'll count as one of my academic teacher rec's so I don't over-do the rec's (if her rec counts as an academic teacher rec, I'll have 4 total).

Read carefully, and you'll have the answer.

"The Vanderbilt Office of Undergraduate Admissions requests letters of recommendation from school counselors and two academic teachers, so that we may better understand our applicants in the classroom and in the school community at large."

"Overall, letters of recommendation should provide us with a more detailed sense of the student in and out of the classroom."

"If students wish to submit additional letters of recommendation from teachers, coaches, employers, or anyone else who can offer something new to the application, they may include those as well. We strongly advise that these extra letters offer additional information about the applicant, and we encourage a “quality–over–quantity” approach."

I'll let you figure out what to do.
