Statistically speaking, a snowball has a better chance in hell.
I just love how parents are so supportive of their children here on CC :’)
@treepanda A few come on here to make other kids feel bad (like my kid got into xyz school full ride I can’t believe y’all didn’t or my kid didn’t get in, their scores must be too high, they must be taking lower tier students to compensate for attrition, making kids who did get in feel bad about their accomplishments). I guess it’s an either or?
But @FooWriter I think she has a good chance. It’s gonna be a crapshoot for all of us.
Sorry guys, plenty of parents here to get good info., share it with their kids, and who are supportive of others. Also plenty of first time parents who are not familiar with the admissions process at all. My kid is just like all of you. Not rubbing anything in anyone’s face, and I certainly haven’t done that intentionally if it’s happened at all.
Peace to you all today as you wait. Best of luck. It’s been a rough road here.
@Winky1 Nah, you were the cool one from the WUSTL RD 2022 thread. I just meant that select few that often are the most vocal. Most on here are decent and concerned people. I edited my post accordingly.
Hang on a sec @treepanda and @habitualnerd I’m a parent who is praying for the best for my D18. Not only that, but seriously hoping all the nice kids I’ve come across on CC are among those ghastly low admit percentages ;
Thanks @habitualnerd. Best of luck.
Whether you got an email or not, tonight Vanderbilt is releasing RD results. Here is the link:

Does anyone have the link to Vandy’s admitted student portal?
@treepanda - as a parent going through this for the first time I admit to being a little obsessed. But I have hopefully never disrespected the many wonderful young adults on this board. I do the research for DS so he can concentrate on the interviews, essays, classes, and EC’s. We aren’t all helicopter parents, we are just trying to help. This is nothing like when I went through my college selection 30 years ago, so I am learning along with all of you. Best of luck to everyone on here. For those who get to your dream school, congrats! For those that do not, remember that you can be just as successful in life graduating form the other school options you have. DS has a top regional (semi-selective) and top state school waiting for him if this last ‘elite’ doesn’t pan out. I know he will be fine as well as all of you.
@2KansasKids very well stated. I’m in the same situation. I went to my dream school with lesser stats than my son has, and my son got rejected from my alma mater even though his stats are comparable to those they admitted. Being realistic, Vandy seems like a longer shot because it has a lower acceptance rate and he loses the benefit of being a legacy. As you can tell from my name, I graduated from ND. However, he is going to do great things wherever he goes, and we support him 100%. Best of luck too all the students and parents on this thread! I am hoping for good news for all of you…
It’s easy as a parent of a successful kid (33 ACT, great EC’s, great community work) to be bewildered when all 5 elites say no thanks (assuming Vandy does today). But my kid is very driven, which is why I know he will be successful through another path. My posts, including this one, probably look like I am trying to ‘validate’ how great he is. But I don’t need to do that, as I am already super proud. I’ve just been trying to gauge his changes and help him discover all potential opportunities so he makes the best college choice. He and I both like the Wayne Gretzky quote: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” So no regrets spending all this time looking into these ‘elite’ schools. But if they weren’t meant to be, so be it. Onward!
What time are the results coming out tomorrow
Never mind. 5.30 central time today
im surprised we haven’t gone through the whole “counting the digits in the email link” thing yet
good luck everyone
Has anyone been able to get into their official Facebook group?
I still haven’t gotten the email, although I’ve never been able to get their emails in the past (I had to call to get help setting up a MyAppVU). Can someone post the content of the letter so I can read it?
@Bella2018 - here it is (link will vary)
As of Tuesday, March 27, after 5:30 p.m. Central Time, you may view your admissions decision by logging into your MyAppVU portal or directly (without logging in) via this link: https://webapp.mis.vanderbilt.edu/… In addition, details of any need-based financial aid awards will be available via your MyAppVU portal. If you have not yet created yourMyAppVU account, it is imperative that you do so now.
Thank you!
