**Vanderbilt Regular Decisions!**

Smiley44, my teachers wanted me to make sure their letters were accurate representations of me! I waived my right to see them, but I guess it was their right to show me.

Just got the e-mail... no scholarships for me!

Just got the e-mail... no scholarships for me!

what email?

Sorry about the double post...

It just said, thank you for applying for the Chancellor and the Cornelius Vanderbilt, the decision was difficult, sorry you don't get anything.

I think that if you don't get the e-mail, it means you'll get a scholarship and find out through the mail.

Sorry about the double post...

The e-mail came a few hours ago, according to gmail...

It was the usual, thank you for applying, the decision was difficult, you were not selected for the Chancellor or the Cornelius Vanderbilt scholarships.

200/3000 got something... and those were pretty good selection odds :(

If you don't get the e-mail, I think you'll get something in the mail congratulating you on receiving a scholarship.
"Please note, however, that the process of selecting scholarship recipients for other awards we administer is still ongoing. No further application is required on your part as we review either admissions application materials or existing scholarship applications to make our decisions. ** Award recipients will be notified either by a separate letter during the month of March or with an offer of admission. **"

Accepted w/ Cornelius

Congratz to everyone else! See you in the fall

Wow. I hope people like you guys who applied for these scholarships don't make up a good percentage of the applicant pool. >_<

how are the decisions notified for RD applicants and does anyone know roughly when are the decisions released?

Mail. Around really late March/very early April.

The Cornelius scholarship was awarded to less than 1% of applicants...not sure about the other scholarships.

Ack, I'm going crazy with waiting! Why do colleges choose April 1st to tell us if we got accepted or not? I mean, "you got into vandy!" April fools -_-

lovetosleep,
Vanderbilt has a history of mailing prior to April 1st. S was admitted in spring '02 and his acceptance was mailed Tuesday, March 26th. I remember this particularly because we had a campus visit planned for Friday, March 29th and he was able to confirm acceptance with his admissions counselor on Thursday afternoon by explaining we weren't coming if he wasn't accepted and the decision hadn't come in the mail yet. He was told to come on. Anyway, I've just kind of always noted since then when Vandy decisions go out and they have always been sent early in all years since. I think there is mention of a target mailing date for RD in the VU Admissions Blog posting about mailing EDII letters. You can also check last year's blog for mention of the RD mailing date. Even the ED folks get excited about this mailing because that's when they get their big Priority Mail packets.

how do you guys find out already if you got accepted RD?!

@Hilsa, so no form of internet communication? I am asking this because I don't live in the US and post would take ages to get to me... Thanks

My admissions officer said March 25th is the tentative release date!

ysbera: I didn't know you were an international student. They e-mail internationals their decisions.

March 25th? Wow. That's earlier than last year, and they have even more applicants this year.

Think of all the coffee.

haha 2VU, I am excited about getting the priority mail packet!
Does anyone know if that's what comes with info about setting up our school email? Not gonna lie, I'm kinda jealous of all my Emory and Northwestern ED friends who can already join the facebook networks. I feel lame for that, but I can't wait to have that (Vanderbilt) next to my name for all viewing.

Things may have changed since D's ED admission in Dec '05, but I think my kids had to wait to set up their Vanderbilt e-mail accounts until late April/early May. Even though D had a matriculation deposit paid, I think she had to wait until the Priority Mail packet came with instructions. I know that was the case for S back in what seems like the dark ages now (before Facebook)!

@Hilsa, thanks! thats much better haha... I just received a post from London dated January 07.
