does anyone know the difference in acceptance rates for say the college of arts and sciences versus the peabody college? i've heard of people applying to peabody because its easier to get into and then transferring into the college of arts and sciences.. i don't really think that's right.

id also like to know the answer to this.

2006 data given out at PreVu
Applications:
Arts & Sci 9,224
Blair 290
Engineering 1,814
Peabody 834

Admitted:
A&S 2,734
Blair 125
Eng 860
Peabody 380

Although those numbers give the impression that a greater percentage of applicants get into Peabody, I can't imagine that by the time they read your essays and rec letters, check your ECs and do Alumni reviews, they wouldn't be able to weed out someone who had that strategy in mind.
