Do you mean 3.5/4.00? What about SAT/ACT score?

I have a 3.5 GPA, and my cumulative is 90 (B+).
My ACT score is a long story, but I took it in March, but because my teacher didn’t sit the students in one direction, everyone’s test was thrown out and considered invalid. I am retaking the test in early June, so i’ll update my scores.

If you are referring to Southern Cal–you are on the low side to be competitive, this is true for Vandy as well.

Spelman and Howard should be no issue as long as your scores are decent.

Vandy seems like a big reach. USC a reach, but less so.

Good luck!

You’ll probably get into Vanderbilt too and can probably get recommendations from the professors you already know from the summer program. Also consider one or two more small liberal arts colleges and be sure to have a safety school.

Howard has some terrific merit scholarships but you need to apply EARLY as the money is given out until it is gone.

Without your scores, it is very hard to judge. Try to pre-study a bit for any weak area on the ACT.

UPDATE: GPA is a 3.7; ACT is a 23. I will be retaking the ACT & taking the SAT in the fall.

23 on the ACT is extremely low for USC and Vanderbilt. You’d have to bring that up to at least a 30 to be considered or have a kick ass essay.

I agree, SC and Vandy are going to be incredibly uphill for you, I would consider other schools.
