Vanderbilt transfer 2022

Congrats on UChicago!

Heyyyy Guys just joined this thread and I am sooooo nervous. I applied regular decision for Vanderbilt last year and was Waitlisted l. It was and still is my #1 top choice and the only school I applied to transfer to.

Does anyone know when decisions start being released

Iā€™ve heard that they release them in phases. I saw something on Reddit.

Deleted. Corrected by later post.

Decisions started being released on April 22 last year.

Oops youā€™re right! I stand corrected! May 8th was when the first wave deposits were due.

Do you think I should send word document addressing one bad grade on my transcript from my first semester in college?

Just wondering is there withdraw button in your application? I do not have it since I receive the portal. Itā€™s strange

I donā€™t have one.

Hey just curious, what is it about Vanderbilt that attracts you so much to the school?

Hi guys. Vanderbilt portal still indicates my college transcripts as missing. But Iā€™ve sent them in like two months ago. Iā€™ve tried every way I could to contact the admission office. But no email replies, no one answers the phone, and no one replies my online form. Can anyone help please? What should I do

I emailed them and they didnā€™t reply but they finally checked it off

Is anyone aware of Vandyā€™s class size and possible over-enrollment for the class of 2025?

Statistics are being released as the admissions decisions are released for the class of 2026.
(2026) Admit rate: 4.7%, # admitted: ~1,900

(2025) Admit rate: 6.7%, # admitted: ~3,100

Acceptance rates plummeted and applicants submitted skyrocketed for the class of 2025. Even then, many schools over-enrolled. I am scared that over-enrollment for 2025 will limit number of transfers able to be admitted.

I donā€™t think so. It seems Vanderbilt already has a set amount of spots for transfers each year. On their website they say ā€œeach fall, approximately 220-240 transfers join our community.ā€ So I guess Vanderbilt stays within that range?

Hi there! Iā€™m actually applying as a transfer from a CC so Iā€™m quite worried since I know Vanderbilt has a preference toward 4-year institutions, but sadly CC was my only affordable option ( I didnā€™t talk about this in my essay though, so I donā€™t know if that was a bad approach ).

Current GPA: 3.91
HS GPA: 3.89 Weighted
Tests: Not Submitted
Essays: I believe they were good with shown interest and they tell a lot about me as a person. I also had them looked over a couple of times before submitting.

How preferential is Vanderbilt toward 4-year institutes? Would it severely hurt my chances of admission? Also, on a total side note, I hope everyone the best on their admissions decision!

I donā€™t imagine theyā€™d have a preference for 4 years at all, CC provides a greater breadth and most colleges prefer cc by a landslide lol. if it doesnā€™t help you, it wonā€™t hurt you for sure.
You look like youā€™ll do great

While I would hope for this to be the case, I do know that their transfer application process criteria says otherwise. For example:

ā€œSince we are a residential campus community, our admission process gives preference to students who have been able to show full-time engagement and full-time enrollment in a similar campus community at their current institution.ā€

did you do ECs and are you a full time student? if there is a detriment iā€™m sure itā€™s marginal, plus just about anywhere else you applied will prefer cc
