Vanderbilt Transfer Fall 2010

lol that sounds like a solid plan. I will probably do the same. i am super anxious to find out

It’s exciting to think we will be receiving our decisions soon! I doubt I will be accepted though. I’m going to give you guys a few stats. Let me know what you think my chances are!
I made a 29 of the ACT, which is not the best. A score of 1310 (critical reading and math) and a total of 1970. I am actively involved in church, have done several community projects such as Tents for Tarps in Haiti and Operation Christmas Child. I was active in 10 clubs throughout my high school experience. Of the 10 clubs, I held leadership roles in five of them. I took 10 AP classes in high school making 2 B’s. My unweighted GPA in high school was 4.2 and my GPA at Harding University is 3.6. I also play piano, banjo, viola, tuba, and organ.
Thanks in advance everyone!

^don’t be so negative! This thread is full of nothing but positivity!!! Its the vanderbilt spirit, after all.

:DDDD

And wow i think your stats are great! A 1970 is pretty good, and taking 10 ap classes in high must have been a lot of rigor. You have a great gpa (btw, unweighted’s cant be over a 4.0, or at least i thought)

I think you could get in and do great at Vanderbilt! Go dores and gl to my fellow future dores

Thank you!
I meant to write weighted hehe

no problem!!!

haha no worries, it’s all good.

I applied to transfer to Vanderbilt just for kicks and giggles because I felt my chances of getting in were low, but who knows, I hope luck is on my side. Otherwise, I’ve already been accepted to Geneseo, Stony Brook, and Bing so it’s not like my fall back schools are bad.

How difficult do you think it is to get into Peabody?

If you don’t get into vandy, sarz, choose geneseo or bing over stony. trust me!

I’m really eager for my decision :D

LOL… y do u h8 sb so much?

your stats are very similar to mine!! Except I didn’t take ap courses I did the IB diploma program. But I think if your essays are strong and your ecs are meaningful you should be good! Their transfer acceptence rate was very high last year so that also helps! But well see I guess, only a few more coming days guys!!

@pianogirl: to which school are you applying?

I would assume vandy?

I think he/she means which school within Vanderbilt :p

Ahh that would make much more sense! : D

Peabody is I believe much easier to get into that CAS. but for transfers I think that that there’s more room for acceptence because that’s the most populated college. Buy eek!!! Only like a week and a half left!

I applied to Peabody, where I will hopefully be majoring in Child Development. I would kind of like to add Child Studies and double major, but I guess we’ll have to see how it goes!

Just a fun side note, my advisor at Harding is Dr. David Cole and the chair of the Psychology and Human Development Department at Vanderbilt is also a Dr. David Cole. haha

My first choice major was Organizational Behavior and my second choice was Cognitive studies. I also put a second choice school which was CAS with first choice major of Public Policy and second choice as Political Science.

I wonder how what my chanced are. I have a 3.43 gpa right now with some pretty great extra curriculars I believe. I’m volunteering with an organization that provides financial literacy to low income families and does taxes for them (Will have 135 hrs by April 15th). I’m also in the cabinet of my Student Government Association with a legislative position. I volunteer with an organization that works with south asian women facing domestic violence. I have a bunch of other things but I don’t want to list everything. Also, I took 20 credits last semester and earned a 3.2 and am taking 23 credits this semester. I currently have 4 A’s 2 B’s and unfortunately one C in a calculus class which I’m trying to raise.

I hope to go to law school one day, but I think Vanderbilt will give me a great diverse undergraduate background.

Do you guys think I even have a chance or is my 3.43 too low to even matter?

@pianogirl: Your stats seem excellent for Peabody. I think your odds are quite good.

Thank you so much!
Sometimes I think I’m just a little too hard on myself.
I can’t wait to find out! Good luck everyone!!!

Anybody get a letter yet?

I am so excited for a decision! I cant wait. Only one more week until vandy informs us. GOOO doresssss!!!

a few decisions might come out tomorrow by email

wait Castiel how do you know that?
