Vanderbilt Transfer Thread [Fall 2017]

@pearmetty I guess either whoever wrote that was lying or whoever wrote the Common Data Set for Vandy is. I’d put my bets to the website being wrong though, I think they are just trying to look more competitive.

more competitive? but they claimed the admit rate was higher than the data said it was

@pearmetty Don’t scare me like that

2015:
1,308 applied
419 accepted
419/1,308= 32%
2016:
1,337 applied
398 accepted
398/1337= 29.7%

2.3% difference

@Mastodon97 I think we have fair chances.

@somehmonggirl John Cena

Perhaps it varies from school to school.

john cana ???

*see fixed typo

John Cena*

still lost

I looked at the Common Data Set and y’all were right. I apologize for intensifying any anxiety including my own.

@pearmetty totally not your fault

@pearmetty dude your reading from a 2012 article. stop playing

https://admissions.vanderbilt.edu/vandybloggers/2012/03/so-youre-a-transfer-student/

lol to be fair i’ve totally read like every vandy admissions article just bc i’m obsessed w decisions

@HopefullyIGetIn the nerves are getting to me mate. sorry about that

lol its all good.

I think they meant 8% as in 8% of 32. A 2.3% drop makes it a bit below 93% of the previous year’s 32% acceptance rate.

@somehmonggirl your not familiar with the “And his name is john cena” body slam memes?

@somehmonggirl
Just with them saying that its 8% lower. 8% lower when you are at around 30-40% isn’t really that big of a deal as when you go 8% lower from a 10% admit rate.

@Mastodon97 its about % change of the %.

@HopefullyIGetIn i am but i still don’t get it in this context i guess

@HopefullyIGetIn “A fair chance” can mean a lot of things : /
