Feline: I was granted an extension while I wait to hear from Georgetown.

so i’m finally in.thanks to all.

got in today!! very excited. is someone starting a facebook group??

Congratulations Elwaffle!!! I know you were worried hahaha:)

facebook group would be awesome- i just explored, though, and i cant figure it out.

and yay, congrats to you two that found out today! :)

Congratulations, elwaffle and shuangshengzi. I would start the Accepted facebook profile, but I haven’t told most of my friends yet. I was almost set on staying at my current school until I got the acceptance letter. If someone makes it, I’ll definitely join in a bit.

iansown- Good luck telling your friends… I had to do the same, and I was very scared. They were not as disappointed as I thought they were going to be. In fact, they were extremely happy for me that i was doing something i really wanted to do. I was in the same situation as you. It will go well!

btw, would they cancle me if my gpa fall from 3.94 to … say 3.8???..

^is that even a serious question? Seriously

Don’t post those stupid questions. I got into Vanderbilt with a 3.5, and do you think they are going to rescind my admission if I, god forbid, get a 3.4? OMG I am so scared…

Hi all…

I’m a non-traditional student (married w/kids) and older than dirt. I have a 3.93 with 43 hrs. I have been primary caretaker for my parents for the last five years. I am a small business owner. I was a substance abuse & addiction counselor at a treatment facility. I have been a Girl Scout leader and organized a Hurricane Katrina disaster relief effort for my county.

My passion is Neuroscience and my goal is research with a PhD. Any input as to my chances for admission to Vanderbilt? Thanks so much!

hey the GPA fall is a serious question…im really worried…

shuangshengzi,
I think you should just work hard to pass your classes. As long as its nothing shocking, I think you’ll be fine.

btmartin97- I’m not really sure how things work for non-traditional students, but your resume sounds like it would be impressive, so I’m sure Vandy would think the same. Depending on your previous school and course load, your chances of pursuing your dreams in neuroscience are definitely possible. Good for you.

For those accepted,
did you already turn in your matriculation deposits?
I’m turning mine in today, but the thought of a $57,000 per year education is unsettling, even with financial aid.

I received my financial aid letter and am surely satisfied with it, but what worries me is if they’re only going to cover financial aid for eight semesters total minus the semesters taken at my current school. So lets say I’m a second semester sophomore, but have transferable credits only equaling to a first semester sophomore. Will I get financial aid for the extra semester it takes me to finish my degree?

I emailed the financial aid office to clarify this, but what do you guys think?

I barely got my acceptance letter today, and barely found out about the deposit that’s due on May 1st. Guess I’ll have to be using Express mail.
But I’m just glad I’m in. :D

For those of you that are concerned about financial aid:

The expanded aid program is phenomenal.

I was accepted yesterday; now I’m waiting on my financial aid package. My application was complete on April 16th.

College: University of Tennessee, Knoxville
GPA: 4.00 (67 hours)

Admitted to the College of Arts and Sciences
