Taco,
I spoke with admissions yesterday and they told me that they still have at least 3/4 of the spots yet to fill. My understanding is that the transfer app process is usually not complete until around the first of June. I’m on pins & needles, too!

Also, as far as matriculation fee…tranfers admissions are asked to just send it in as soon as possible after acceptance.

The people that I talked to basically walked everywhere. Literally, downtown is like a 4 minute car ride away. This little place to shop called hillsboro is like a block away, and there are a bunch of restaurants walking distance from Vanderbilt also.

Wow, I’m really surprised all the decisions are not out. Housing applications and other papers and such are supposed to come out mid May, with matriculation deposit due yesterday. Is Vandy your first choice?

Vanderbilt is my first and only choice. I’m not currently enrolled anywhere so if I don’t get in I will study for the SAT and reapply next year. I am non-traditional, so testing has been waived but my thinking is that it could possibly make my application stronger. I want to study neuroscience and Vandy is the only school around that offers it. So, unless I want to uproot my family, it’s my only choice.

This has been the LONGEST weekend! Knowing I should hear something this week has made the time crawl. I have tried to keep my mind off of it to no avail. This is so big for me and I have waited for so long to continue my education (taking care of my parents for 5 years). Now my youngest will be starting school and parents have outside help so the timing is perfect. I’m sure doing a lot of praying.

Good luck to everyone who hasn’t heard yet…I hope this week brings wonderful news for us all.!

iansown- I created my VUnet id last week. I can now access my email and everything. I applied for housing. Also, they recently emailed me on that account about my E-bill (it’s something to pay for your tuition online) and i set up an account for that as well. It was fairly simple. After sending my deposit, i checked a few times to see if i was a person in the system so that i could make my VUnet id. (if it says youre an unknown person, dont worry. it took a week or so until mine worked)

I still have no credentials for the VUnet id. Hopefully I get it soon. I want to apply for housing ASAP. Bhud, did you pick a hall preference in the application or do they decide for us?

No, there was nothing about hall choosing- you had to pick a first and second choice, though, between double, single, or no preference. I tried to put double twice but they didnt allow that, so i just put double and then no preference. And no worries about not being on there yet it took like a week and half after i had sent in my deposit. Just check it daily.

wow…im surprised that lots of people still haven’t gotten their decisions by now…
i received my acceptance package roughly 2 weeks ago…and im supposed to reply to Vanderbilt by the 8th…but i still haven’t heard back from other schools yet…wonder if they give extension on the deadline.

they granted me an extension until the 15th, but that was because my location takes about 8 days or so for mail to arrive from TN. I didn’t need that long to decide that I’m attending though, haha. Just try asking.

NOOOOO I haven’t heard anything either and it’s making CRAZY!!! For those who haven’t heard, do you know when you’re file was completed?

My hubby tells me to stop stressing about it, but I’d like to know how!?!

Vandy is the only school nearby with a Neuroscience program, so it’s the only one I’ve applied to. I’m non-traditional with a family so unless I want to uproot, which I don’t, it’s my only option. I sure could use some prayers/positive thoughts my way!! :o)
