hmmm… iansown, you’d have to call. from what it seems, you may have to put 400 down instead. im thinking they will probably send it before the first though, even if you arent from the US. it may come close, but you can fax your decision even on the first if it comes down to it.

I called, confirmed my admittance and was able to get a counselor to email my financial aid package to me. I am almost definitely going to Vanderbilt in the Fall.

If you’d like to know, my letter was dated April 16. Good luck again to everyone. Hope for the best. :):)

I live in Florida (go to school in Vermont).

From what I know they only send decisions through snail mail.

I got this email Friday!

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions has received your application for
admission by transfer to Vanderbilt University for the fall semester of 2009.
Before we can make a final decision on your application, we will require your
spring semester grades from your current institution. As soon as we receive an
official transcript from your current institution which includes your spring
grades, we will reach a final decision on your application.

We appreciate your patience as a candidate under serious consideration for
admission. You will receive a decision as soon as possible after this final
review.

Please feel free to contact our office if we can help in any way.

onelove3,

I think you should believe it when they say your app is under serious consideration. I don’t think they’d wait for your semester grades to come in unless they were serious. Good luck and do well this sem!

My application has not been reviewed eithier.

Anyone from central/north Alabama, Deleware, Iowa, Nebraska, or greater Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who has gained transfer admission?

For all accepted transfers who plan on attending,
What are you doing to prepare? I have to travel a great length to get to Vandy so I’m worried about so many things, down to where I’m going to get bed sheets, what I’m supposed to bring, and how I’m going to adapt to the different social environment. I really hope the transfer orientation program is comprehensive. Ahh, I’m so excited, and nervous.

rlm did you call and find out?

Yes, I did. I called the admissions office and asked if my file has been reviewed. They looked me up and said it was complete, but hasn’t been reviewed. Then I called my regional counselor and she is out until the 24th, which was yesterday.

What do you mean out till the 24th?

rlm2008 - thank god i was about to post a post just like that, except with different regions!! hopefully it’s just certain regions being more popular than others… or certain counselors being more efficient. hahah. seriously thought i was going neurotic though, at least now i’m not alone in that thought.

My counselor was out of the office until yesterday.

Where are you elwaffle?

So that means that your regional counselors have the final say?

I have no clue, but they should have something to do with it. Call your regional counselor if you haven’t and see if they have left any updates on their voicemail.

Oh great just called and my counselor is slacking off till may 4.

iansown- don’t stress out too much about it. you’re in, all you have to do is celebrate!
haha. It will be somewhat difficult to travel from far away, is there a way you can send boxes of stuff before you arrive? Also, a lot of times, universities will send out something during the summer where we can actually order bedding from them. I am not sure about Vanderbilt, but my sister transferred to Brown a few years back and was offered the very same. If not, I believe that there will be stores close, if not on campus, and/or cab services to run to a mall or somehting quickly. My letter says that we have to apply for housing before june 1st, and that’s the only thing i’ve attempted to do to prepare.

Has anyone tried setting up their VUnet id or whatever? you have to do it to apply for housing- but mine says i am still an unknown person.

I think you get your ID once you send in the deposit. I am driving 13 hours and going to Vanderbilt on Tuesday to see the campus and housing. I am nervous about housing also!

you should tell us all what you think!! good luck with the thirteen hour drive…

I know I am dreading the 13 hour drive!! The plane ticket was expensive though so it was not really worth it. I’ll tell everyone all about it. I am definitely excited to see the housing and the campus.

Jaimetransfer,
Have fun! Definitely want to hear what you think of the place. I hear the campus is BEAUTIFUL. Are any of you planning on going Greek? I don’t think I am, but I heard it’s a big part of the social scene.
