<p>Is it a plus if you apply to Vanderbilt if your a New York resident? I would imagine that the majority of their candidates are from the south and a small % from the north. Also if you apply after two years of college, do they still need your ACT scores and what GPA should you aim for to get a decent shot?</p>

<p>New York is the second most represented State. Vanderbilt is hardly southern anymore, so don’t count on that helping you at all. Yes you still need ACT and High school grades will still be looked at. There is no average GPA</p>
<p>many, many of the transfers were from NY. </p>
<p>To have a shot, you should have around a 3.7 (A-)</p>
