Vanderbilt University Early Decision II

like a letter and skinny. I was so scared when I saw it, ha.

lol im not even scared. i’ll probably get rejected anyways haha it was just the only school that had ED 2 that i wouldn’t mind going to…since i only applied that and brown as far as ivies. oh well. i wish i got into NYU, but i didn’t. : [

I just got my acceptance letter!!! Best. News. Ever.

I’m also a white female living in Tennessee.
GPA: 4.0 unweighted
ACT: 34 composite
SAT: 1560 index (800 CR/760 M/800 W)
AP: 5 on APUSH, AP English Language; taking three more this year

Extra-c’s: Key Club president, literary magazine editor, Young Democrats president, Environmental Club vice-president, Student Council curriculum chair, varsity girls soccer

Other stuff: National Merit Finalist, Volunteer Girls State, Governor’s School for the Humanities, state essay contest winner, some regional math and writing awards

Essay: I thought it was good. I used the one I wrote for UNC about how not being able to play guitar well has taught me to pursue some hobbies less zealously and to relax more.

Recommendations: The two teacher recommendations were golden. One, especially, was terrific, because the teacher adores me, and he also thought the application was being sent to Princeton, where he wanted me to go. The guidance recommendation was pretty bad; my counselor doesn’t know me very well. I got a supplemental letter from the vice-chancellor of Tennessee-Martin where I went to Governor’s School this summer.

I’m so happy right now! Vanderbilt is my dream school.

I got rejected. Well, good luck guys and congrats to those who made it. You should be proud of yourselves.

i got rejected too ^_^

Yeah man, it’s cool though luck plays a big part in the admissions process. We were all qualified… just wasn’t us. What are your other schools you are looking at? My 2nd choice is USC, can’t miss LA ;)

haha yeah im so sick of the college admissions process lol
umm washu but ill prob get rejected there,
& i like rice!

where are u from?

this is so exciting!!! congrats everyone! i am a RD applicant…and hoping to hear good news in the future!!

I went to a live audition at the Blair School of Music a few weeks ago and recently got rejected EDII. My piano teacher, though, got a letter in the mail today congratulating me on my acceptance to Vandys music school.
My piano teacher is showing me her letter tomorrow, I’m showing her my letter, and we’re both going to call and ask what’s going on.
Do you think I got accepted or rejected?
Does the music school help you get in even if you’re rejected?

gee rbelensz…someone got their wires crossed. I sure hope things work out great for you when you get to the bottom of this mystery.

megustacoffee, I’m from Lexington, KY. I already got into a bunch of okay schools. purdue, uk, uofL, ualabama, miami ohio, osu, unc-chapel hill, Umichigan-ann arbor. I pretty much love michigan now. I visited and it’s soo much better than Vandy tho. Still have to hear back from USC, U of miami, and boston collge. But USC is in south central LA(bad part of town) and i feel the students will party off campus-which is expensive. Umiami- too expensive to live. and Boston College-doesn’t have greek, and have to go offcampus. Michigan is pretty much perfect in academics, party, greek life, student body, and diversity. Weather’s not too much a deal-breaker for me. And their campus and town is BEAUTIFUL! Where else you applying man?

Babygrl9205 where are you applying? and I am sorry to hear about your rejection. But it’s whatever you know?

megustacoffee, if you are a girl I apologize for calling you “man” in my last comment… O.o

Did you get in rbelensz?
