Hey guys, so I’m currently a Freshmen at University of Tennessee trying to transfer to Vandy this fall. My stats go as such:

*College GPA: 3.83 with 16 hours completed in solid classes with a harder 17 hours this semester.
*Involved in Student Gov., Student Alumni Association, and a group leader of a new Academic Assistance Program for my Econ Class
*High School GPA: 3.35 (3 APs and rest mostly honors)
*ACT: 24 (not to hot)
*Involved in multiple extracurriculars in high schools
Currently part-time employee at a construction company.
Also am 50% Portuguese hoping diversity might give me a little help haha

Thats a broad gist of what I hope will get me the nod…

if you have applied to a school and have been originally rejected as a freshman can you apply as a transfer? are your chances of transferring less since you have once been rejected?

I have a 24 on my ACT so i was also worried but I emailed by admissions counselor and she said that ACT scores are not heavily considered…I hope thats true!

^Based on last year’s transfer admissions thread, that seems to be true. I’m pretty sure someone got in with a 26 ACT (or something close to that) and a GPA hovering around 3.0. It’s the college GPA that matters the most.

Vanderbilt was my top choice last year, and I was waitlisted. Hoping to transfer Fall 2011, here are my stats

College:
4.0 GPA first semester at a 4 year public insitution
Honors college
Treasurer of a club, involved in other ones, lots of volunteer work

High School:
4.0 GPA with lots of AP classes at a private institution
Tons of clubs and service work, etc etc

32 ACT

Looking to transfer to Peabody for H&OD major

Although Vanderbilt says they send out decisions for transfer in May, it seems that some decisions are mailed in April, according to last year’s thread about the same topic. This will be a long 3 months of waiting, good luck to everyone!
