I applied to Vandy and Northwestern. “Go big or go home” :)

^ Agreed. I feel like there’s a trend of where people apply.

where are you guys all at now?

@miami do you know when we will hear from wake?

now im at a small liberal arts college in new york city. what about you all?

I’m at nyu

oh were neighbors i guess! i go to the new school

haha awesome. Yeah, I’m sick of spending so much money and not having a fun social life. I love my friends and being in the city has its perks but I can always return. I’m sure you are the same

yeah i want to have a more traditional college experience and i love the city but i want to be in a more academically-minded community. i love my friends but i want to go to med school and i care most about school but its hard when everyone else just cares about going out sort of. im just ready for a change.

Getting way too nervous for my own good. I’m at Ole Miss right now… huge party school. And I ONLY applied to Vandy. Hopefully I get in, but if I don’t at least I know I’ll be having fun in Oxford. Haha!

I’m at the College of Charleston in South Carolina. It’s an awesome place, and I love being able to go to the beach a lot ha, but like a lot of you I want a school with a great academic reputation.
If it is true that some decisions were sent out last week, I’d assume some people will get a letter tomorrow in the mail. I hope it’s one of us!

I think when we all find out we should create a fb Vandy transfer group (if admitted obviously)… what do y’all think? It would be nice to know some people when we get there!

ive heard that most of the social scene at vandy is all about greek life. coming from new york i barely know anything about sororities or frats. im worried about making friends though in a city where i dont know anyone so i might consider rushing a sorority if i get in. is that possible to do as a junior? what do you guys think about the whole greek life thing?

I’m in a sorority here at Ole Miss, and it’s just like Vandy, maybe even a little worse. If you aren’t in a frat or sorority you’re nothing. Which is stupid, but in the south it’s a big deal. My problem is that they don’t have the same one at Vandy that I’m in, so I can’t reaffiliate or rush for a whole year. I’ll probably rush as a junior as well… hard, but not unheard of.

I definitely agree with the fbook group… If i get in!
I’ve heard the same thing about greek life-it pretty much dominates the social scene. If I attend Vandy, I’d definitely rush and hopefully get into a good frat.

what is it like in a sorority? i grew up in los angeles and now im at a college that doesnt have any, so i cant really picture what sorority life is like.

It will be weird not being in a sorority next year if I get in. I’ve adapted to greek life very very well here so it will be interesting not being in one, haha.

Yeah, theres actually transfer 2010 and 2009 Vandy groups on fb now. I’m sure someone will definitely make one. Eh I’m not much of a greek-thats my only concern. More a theater/music kid but I definitely don’t want not joining a frat to ruin my time.

It’s great to do if you have the money to do it. Of course, there are some negative aspects as well. A lot of the girls are snobby, which comes with being in a sorority. But it’s great because you have 300+ sisters that you can always count on. You also raise money for your philanthropy, and go to swaps and formals with the frats. It’s great, I’d encouraged you to at least rush if you’re interested.

yeah ill definitely want to rush one

the waiting is driving me absolutely insane!
