My weakness is High School, but I have already been through two years of college. Think it will hinder me and others transferring after two years into junior year than those that are transferring as sophomores? Good Luck to everyone! hope to see you on campus in the future!

Both vandy’s admissions blog and my admissions counselor say that they focus mainly on your college performance, so I think that helps you out a lot, since you have great ECs and a really good GPA. Definitely a really good shot!

Thanks Logan. Of course, the Bears have 5 Vandy players so obviously that makes me love Vanderbilt even more  Nevertheless, I’m disappointed that we lost but I’m hopeful for next season.

Zesty, I think you have a great chance.

Did you all apply last year for undergrad? And are you all planning on applying anywhere else?

Thanks Guys! I did not apply when I was in high school. I’m only applying to transfer to Vanderbilt. I want to go there, but it’d be best if I stayed here if I didn’t get in.

Did you guys send in your mid-term reports when you sent in your app. I’ve heard some schools don’t require transfers to send in their mid-term reports.

I emailed my admissions counselor to ask a few weeks ago, and she said that Vandy doesn’t require the midterm report.

I did not apply to Vandy as an incoming freshman and I’m also applying to Northwestern. What about you?

Yeah, applied and got waitlisted. I’m only applying for transfer to vandy and UK, because I am from Kentucky.

Good deal. I think you have a great shot, not only because of your stellar HS/college record but also because you applied as an incoming freshman last year. The transfer page states that a good amount of transfers are students who had applied as incoming freshmen but could not attend for whatever reason.

Let’s hope so, who knows though haha.
This wait is so nerve-wracking. It was hard enough last year, but going through it again is horrible! Oh well, hopefully it will work out for the best for all of us in April or May!

I am also applying to transfer as a junior. I have a GPA of a 3.9-4.0 from a top public school and great ECs, however, I made a 25 on the ACT my sophomore year of High School. Will that hold me back? I have an awesome background besides that and maybe my H.S. GPA which was a 3.6. I actually registered to retake it in a couple weeks, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it.

jhlee - As a junior, your ACT won’t have as much bearing on your admission chances. If you have been able to hold a 3.9 GPA thus far, you are certainly a great candidate for Vanderbilt.

I’ve heard rumors that Vandy is more likely to accept one person over another based on whether they need financial aid or not. Anyone else heard anything? Is that true?

^As far as I know, Vandy’s admissions are need-blind.

aburch1, I also go to UT! Are you originally from Nashville?

I sent in my application today, and requested all the required materials from my school. I guess the wait now begins…

p.s. I also finished all the financial aid stuff as well.
