It certainly feels like it has dragged out longer this year than in years prior.

And Duke would be my dream school. I’m originally from Durham and the Duke campus is certainly the gem of that city. Maybe I’ll get in for med school there. One can dream lol

Hey qwertychester I applied as a Philosophy major! Hopefully we’ll have class together haha.

Nothing in Chicago. Would the admissions office reveal whether your decision was mailed or not (if I call)?

I was told that mine was not mailed because a decision had not been made, but I think it really depends on who you talk to on the phone. Your best bet is just contacting your admissions counselor as they have that information.

Anyway, I called today and they said that another batch was sent out today as well. I think by this Saturday we’ll have decisions from two batches from which we can begin seeing trends in GPA/SAT/EC’s for admitted/rejected/wait-listed applicants.

^My admissions counselor has not been replying to my emails so I guess I’ll just call.

Same situation here, cuz.

Yea way to represent SMH. Duke is excellent but vandy ain’t bad lol. That’s my second choice. Go both schools haha

Yea JoJo representing Socrates lol.

I just called but the lady was unable to confirm that my letter had been mailed (I’m guessing for security purposes). Regardless, I’ve had trouble contacting my counselor via email so I’m not too optimistic about being in the first batch even though my app was submitted in January.

Yeah Im a big time Duke fan lol. The combination of sports and academics would be awesome, but I’ll gladly take Vandy if I get the chance. Duke’s transfer rates for the college of arts and science is really low, so I felt like it would be a waste of time to apply given that I’d likely be a fringe-average applicant.

Well kyrie left early. One extra spot lol

@smh - You prefer Duke’s athletics to Vandy’s? Vandy plays in the SEC which is a much better football conference than the ACC. Of course, the ACC has 2 powerhouse basketball teams in Duke and UNC and Duke is a perennial favorite. However, Vandy’s basketball program has been stellar as of late and I expect that to continue. Not to mention, Vandy has the #1 baseball team in the country. Both have crap football teams but Vandy plays against tougher opponents.

So no one has received a decision yet? I called today to see whether mine was mailed and the lady transfered me to a counselor to look it up for me but then that guy didnt answer. I agree this process does seem endless! Wait more letters were sent out today? I hope we all find out by the weekend. The waiting is driving me insane.

ACC is bad in basketball too. Everyone in that league makes Duke look unbeatable. SEC football is amazing, so even if Vandy gets pummeled by good teams, at least the rest of the competition is legit.

Duke, as a school, is amazing.
Duke bball, and coach k, ehh.

@Chicago, Of course I prefer Duke’s athletics moreso than Vandy’s, but I’m biased because I grew up a few miles away from Duke’s campus. That’s not to say I wouldn’t support Vandy’s teams as I would probably be at every game possible to relieve all the academic stress lol.

And the ACC has had a few down years as of late, but historically I believe it has been the toughest league in the country. Again, I’m biased but the ACC was fantastic in the early-mid 2000’s, and even in the 80’s and 90’s it was among the best conferences in the country. And I’m not sure how Duke bball and Coach K are “ehh,” when they’ve won 4 NCAAT’s with a coach that will become the all time wins leader by next November. But, I don’t want to take this thread too far off topic lol, I’m just always down for some basketball talk ha.

@qwertychester, maybe I could call up Coach K and I could get a walk-on spot now that Kyrie is gone haha

Hahaha just don’t bust up your toe. Duke needs you

Well I like to shoot the 3 ball so I should fit right in lol

Haha guys this isnt a basketball thread! But… to chime in Im a UCLA basketball fan through and through even though they have had a rough few years.

I meant ehh as in, I don’t like them. And Big East all (in bball)
