Thanks, I think mine was <3.0, or could be barely over 3.0, not sure…so I’m hoping my college GPA will help me.

Also, how do they determine your level of interest?

Also, how do they determine your level of interest?

Interest can be demonstrated in your essay, i.e. you writing about specifics about the program that would only be known through inquiry, etc.

Or, if you visit the campus, took a tour, got in contact with the alumni organization, etc. I believe there was room on the supplement for these things.

I did the prior — that is, I wrote about a lot of specifics that I learned about over the past year.

@Godric

Yeah, I wrote in my essay about the various programs at Vandy, since that is the only school I applied to. I had a really good essay. Also, I think my teacher recs were crucial to getting in.

@Keloughr

That makes me feel fantastic, since I believe my essay did the same thing. I’ll be hearing early the week of the 9th.

Poor Godric! You’ve been waiting for such a long time! Did y’all get on the vandy admissions blog? They posted a transfer students update not too long ago. Check it out. And Godric, I’m rooting for ya! Everyone is in my thoughts and prayers as we go through this very stressful time in our college career!

Yeah, I had everything turned in March 1st, and sent out my SAT scores early February. I called mid-March to find out that my SAT scores hadn’t been received… more than a month after I sent them. By the time Collegeboard resolved the issue and my application was complete, it was already early April. I started this thread January 2nd, heh.

But thank you for your kind words. :). I will pray as well.

The link is here for the other people on this thread: [Transfer Update | The Vandy Admissions Blog | Vanderbilt University](Transfer Update | The Vandy Admissions Blog | Vanderbilt University)

Yep, denied…I knew this was coming, no shock there…

Good luck to rest of you, and congrats to those who got in!

Oh, geeze. I’m so sorry. :-. That makes me worry since our stats are sort of similar, though I’m at a four-year institution.

Did you apply/get into anywhere else? Feel free to read/post in my other thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1129525-anyone-else-stressed-out-their-mind-please-post-stories.html

Yeah, I did. This is actually my only rejection from all the schools I applied to. I was secretly hoping I would get in to prove to myself that I can keep up with those in elite private schools; but, guess not. Looks like I’m forever doomed at state schools.

Oh well, there’s always Law and MBA stuff later…

@CrownOftheSea

Listen, kid. I saw the schools you got into, and they’re all really great schools. You should be proud of yourself. Granted, none of them are the level of Vanderbilt, but who cares? Either of those schools are great, and if you want to, you can re-apply to Vanderbilt next year and see what happens. You could declare a double major and write a damn good essay as to why you would be a great candidate for a double-transfer.

You said you might be ‘doomed’ at UC-SB. That’s a tier one, #39 school. I know it wasn’t what you may have wanted at the end, but it’s still fantastic. Hang in there.

And, like you said, there’s still graduate school.

@godric you still havent heard?!?! poor you! thats so annoying

The wait rages on :P.

I’m sorry that must be so annoying! Good things come to those who wait hopefully!

@ Godricgryffindor,

I’m not a kid, but I do appreciate your advice. I do agree that I got into some awesome schools and should definitely be grateful. I think I was just in sort of a shock since I haven’t gotten any other rejections so far. I also agree that UCSB is pretty darn good still and if I do end up going there I’ll definitely be working my butt off to get some damn good GPA for grad school.

p.s. I’ll be transferring into wherever as a Junior so it is impossible for me to apply for transfer again, so this was it for me. I wish you luck in your journey!

@CrownOftheSea

Haha, I say “kid” to middle-aged men. It’s just part of my Casablanca vocabulary.

Thanks, and have fun!

wait, so Godric are you and me the only ones left waiting atm?

I still haven’t heard anything either…I’m so so so worried. I feel like I’m one of the only few that have not heard anything.

Looks like it, kid. When was your app complete?

I sent in everything by the deadline, but had to resend my transcripts. So it was complete around mid march. I was actually at Vanderbilt last week, and they told me my letter would probably be mailed out this Friday, so I hope i get it sometime early next week. You?

I thought it was complete by the deadline, but because of some issues with my scores, my application was put on hold and them made complete a few weeks ago.

I was told that mine would be mailed by next Friday.
