I only got an email after I submitted my app just before the deadline and then I got an email today when my decision went up, but just so you know I got 2 weeks to accept so Iā€™d imagine the second wave will come right after that probably like May 8 or somewhere around there but just a guess.

Accepted! My admissions update email went to the promotions folder for some reason so I didnā€™t see it until after 2 hours. Iā€™ll leave my stats to help anyone viewing this thread in the future:

  • Freshman transfer, will be entering as a sophomore
  • Major: economics; mentioned Iā€™m interested in business
  • GPA: 4.0 from a T60 state school (I took 5 classes my first semester and one of them was a P so technically not a perfect 4.0)
  • SAT: 1510/1600
  • Extracurriculars: internship related to my major over spring semester (not with a prestigious company or anything), regular member of 2 business-related clubs, ran an eCommerce dropshipping business, Eagle Scout and some other volunteering stuff from high school

Congrats and good luck to everyone else!

I didnā€™t get any decisions in the first wave, I thought I completed my app on time :grimacing:. Am I at a disadvantage now?

Accepted! 4.0 College GPA from Decent big 10 public school, current freshman, 1360 SAT (submitted) 3.5 UW/4.4 Weighted high school GPA. I thought I had no chance with my stats but I really think my essays are what got me in. I hope everyone here who hasnā€™t heard back yet gets in

Accepted!! 3.95 college GPA from a mid-tier public school, good recommendations, internship, student gov, copy-editing for school newspaper

I was really paranoid that I didnā€™t do my essays correctly, since I didnā€™t talk about Vanderbilt at all in my transfer essay, but I guess that didnā€™t matter lol

Are second wave decisions mostly rejections? :frowning: From what I have observed from previous threads, Iā€™m seeing this trend.

My Stat:
GPA: 4.0 at the University of Rochester (got 2 pass/fail tho), incoming Sophmore.
SAT: 1460
Good ECs: research, student-run nonprofit org, internship, etc.
Essays are meh. Iā€™d say average.

Iā€™m super discouraged right now, got rejected by both Cornell and Northwestern. Sigh

Hi, my child was accepted to Vanderbilt last year, but went to T30 state school with no scholarships ( do not ask me why). Do you think there is a chance to be accepted to Vanderbilt again? stats: HS GPA 4.4 W, 4.0 UW, college GPA 3.6, ok extra curriculars, recommendation letters, and essays. Thx.

ACT super score 34

Interesting. Also btw vandy never accepts CC students so I promise u thatā€™s why u didnā€™t get in. They literally admit this bias on their website lol

Omg thank you. You made me feel so much better about myself lol

Hereā€™s what the website says for those asking: ā€œSince we are a residential campus community, our admission process gives preference to students who have been able to show full-time engagement and full-time enrollment in a similar campus community at their current institution.ā€

Haha itā€™s all good. I hope that person has a wonderful time at Vandy. I didnā€™t mean to come off as rude, I was just surprised because I havenā€™t really seen a GPA below 3.5 get into Vandy and I was wondering how they got in.

Iā€™m an international student/immigrant so English isnā€™t my first language, and I come from a culture thatā€™s very blunt and abrupt. My apologies @Transferhopeful44 you deserve your acceptance and your comeback is very inspiring!! Best of luck at Vandy if you decide to attend!
